Hi,

I installed Linux mint, and its not easy getting it removed.

I First deleted the partition its on and then i could not boot into windows since my boot manager is controlled by Linux.

If I had to format my whole hard drive would my PC be back to normal?

BTW: How do you change the boot manager to be controlled by Windows instead of Linux?

Thanks :)

Boot from your Windows installation disk, select R for repair.
Type 'fixmbr' at the command prompt
Done

If you format the hard drive then everything will be gone on that particular drive, and if the drive shared a windows partition, then that will also be wiped out.

To get your Windows boot manager back, pop in the Windows CD, there should be an option somewhere in the installation process to repair the main boor record (MBR) or do a repair installation, either should work.

Boot from windows installation disk and choose “Repair my computer” then go and select your Windows installation, and from there select Command Prompt.
Now execute one command at a time

bootrec.exe /FixBoot
bootrec.exe /FixMbr

I have put a picture of my Hard Drive here: https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B7rprqFjt5prZjE1MjQ0N2QtMTM0YS00ZTk2LWI3NDAtYWQzMTBhNDQ0YjRl

Which partitions should i delete?

Hard to say, how many partitions did you have for linux? 1 or two?

It could be both the 6 & 12 GB partitions or just the 12GB partition as the 6GB one could contain your windows install media.

Rather boot up with the linux mint cd, run gparted/disk utility and post the a screenshot from that as it will correctly recognize the file system types of the ones windows cant pick up.
