Would you petition MyBB to take down Usenet thread

This is retarded the SAIX Server is completely crippled, the sticky attracts about 7 new users a day thats 14 connections a day extra... there is no way Telko can keep up with this forever... its time that the thread dissapears, at least until SAIX stops the IPCop abusers... please can we remove it, anyone agree ??
 
The thread was encouraged so there was a single thread instead of many - lesser of two evils IMHO.

However, if there is an overwhelming request to remove it . . .
 
So usenet is only for old users, new ones are not supposed to use it? If there are abusers, I think chances are that you are more likely to find them amongst the veterans, rather than the newbies. Because i prefer my usenet easy and not downloading at 1 kbyte a second, I actually subscribe to an overseas one.

Why do you not rather petition to have a paid server here, where the $10 that I spend overseas(if i remember quickly it is for 60 gBytes a month, i cannot use that much bandwidth) I will spend here and be able to use cheap local bandwidth at a reasonable access rate?
 
I think the best option would be for Giganews to put a server on our local backbone... (the one that nvidia etc are hosted on)
 
Im over the news servers... Unless they get "fixed" some how even if there is a fee or what ever.

They should just make it so you have to login with a SAIX or IS account.

or they should just upgrade the server.

I can see some constructive critism here but what I am saying is that it is better for some l33t style ***ers to have it than no one at all... even if a small percentage of them are abusing it and using the majority of the bandwidth...

That sounds pretty stupid but if you really think about it SAIX are not likely to upgrade it anytime soon and its already on the brink of death...

Are there no geniuses here that can curb the multi connection abusers... please contact me if you want to know how they do it in order to prevent it...

My idea is for SAIX to have a newsreader that verifies there no. of connections... or maybe limit it to x no. of connections per ADSL port (household) instead of IP adress

and what makes them better than a newbie? It's BS and I'll always think it's BS ....... the internet is for everyone, not some elite idiots.

Exactly.

Otherwise SAIX and IS need to put access control methods up so only one or two connections from a certain IP is allowed. So the greedy inconsiderate persons can do jack about it...
 
By posting the link it is encouraging others to also abuse services - and this will lead to others being unable to use these fee services - and will also lead to these free services becoming subscription services.

I heard there was a away to track down abusers? Thats an easier route?

Bitfarm is working on a pay server. Once thats up, im leaving SAIX and IS.

Ah, Bitfarm you say? And Bitfarm is hosting the PDF on how to create lots of PPPoE connections to the news servers...

Guys dont judge me, forums are for discussion and that is what this is right?

I know it is selfish but that is what I am saying it is better to let l33t idiots have it than no-one... the idea was (in the biggining) that a couple of people grab the stuff of usenet and then distribute... now everyone (like 4 ppls from my school !!??) is using SAIX... !! Also please mods REMOVE THOSE LINKS...

and btw cant they make a system where you log in with ISP details ?? or is that against some agreement or other
