I exist only in my own mind ...
After the connectivity problems cause by the cable break, I wonder how many of you would still consider a Cloud Model as a solution on which to depend your business?

How many could not access their gmail, never mind being unable to capture invoices?

It's the 28th of the month, most businesses close their month during the period at which connectivity has been lost!

Yes, I DO know that certain Internet services have continued running while others have failed, but the fact that some failed would IMHO be sufficient reason to retain critical services under my control, rather than have to rely on a whole bevy of service providers, some of whom I am very likely to be unaware - were you aware of the cable provider whose cable failed prior to this event? I doubt it.

Ideally cloud-based software should be able to run locally without a connection to the cloud for times when connectivity is interrupted and sync the changes back when connectivity returns.

Personally I wouldn't move my business processes to a system that didn't provide that functionality.
