Hay guys

I played WOW when it first came out in London. I then had to return to South Africa and didn't continue playing.

I now have some spare time and i am thinking of rejoining the world off MMO's.
I am currently playing Warhammer and i don't i am not loving the PvP i am a casual PvE kind of guy.

So i was wonder 2-3 years and 2 expansions down the line, is it worth playing WOW again.

No! I stoped about a year ago and I don't miss it. The DK is just OP and rolls on anything and raiding is just to easy now.

Well considering he is a casual PvE player it will be to easy and you will go trough ever dungon/raid within 3 months of hitting 80. What you could do test it on a private server and see if you like it. Out of my readings and advice from friends they say it is The World of Casualcraft. It dosn't have to be a bad thing but over a long term it will get boring if you don't raid and if you do you'll be trough the content very very quick. Thinking of 3.1 it might be 4 or 5 months instead of 3.

Still fun, the levelling experience (at least solo) is probaly better than it's ever been. Raiding may be less of a challenge and there may be a lot more noobs around but I guess if you get in a good guild running for the tougher achievements you can still get your rocks off. You'll just have to learn to be okay with being merely another peon within a legion of epixxx-equipped neanderthals.

I am a casual player. I had a L60+ alliance char and re-rolled a Horde DK. I am loving it. I am not big into the raiding and normally play on my own or with my wife. Both are enjoying it, but neither of us have ever been the super hardcore - play 12 hours a day type of people. So yeah, it is still fun.

Cool guys

Thx for the info
i have decided to buy BC and WOTLK

was just wondering if anyone want to do that "recruit a friend" deal with me.
I am very heppy to give someone a free month if it doesn't cost me (the fast XP gain is a plus too)

I wanna play horde this time run, also whats the lag on 356K adsl like (playable i hope)

Recruit a friend doesn't work in SA.

384 is perfectly fine for WoW

I've been reading all the thread relating to starting up again or quiting and how the game has changed.

I played from release of the game and until I hit 70 in TBC, due to circumstances I had to stop playing for about a year now. I just started again, new account, character, switched to horde and moved from US to EU. The only thing that remained the same was my class.

Yes the game has changed, I personally felt it was like starting something totally new again when I started now. WotLK isn't the WoW I started playing originally, its 2 expansions on and the world has changed accordingly.

I can honestly say that I have fallen in love with the game for a second time and I would suggest that you start playing again.

Personally I don't think that there is any harm in giving wow another try.
Something that you must remember is that everyone has their own opinion and that said opinion differs from person to person.

I my self dislike the new expansion (wotlk) however that doesn't mean I have stopped enjoying wow. I simply have just been looking at new ways of playing world of warcraft.

For example I bought a new account (that does not have bc or wotlk on it) and formed a Pre-Bc guild.
This guild is focused on playing and redoing content which is related to the pre-bc or 'vanilla' wow era. There are still a wide range of things to do and it is nice to revisit all of it. Guild does alot of PvP together, run dungoens, grind rep and are also working at level 60 progression in raids (without the aid of players above level 60).

This might be a nice way for you to test the waters again and see if you really do want to get back into wow without buying all three versions of the game and then deciding that you don't want to play after all.

Feel free to send me a PM on the forums if you would like more information :)

Anyways sorry that was a tiny bit offtopic but again, I think that you should give wow another try.

There definitely have been some nice additions to world of warcraft, and of course some negative additions but any game has its pros and cons to it and you just have to decide if it is worth it.

To me it also depends on who you play with. If you are playing with a group of players who are friendly and active and love to talk about similar interests and so on, you will enjoy wow much more than if you join a guild and feel very isolated (as in you cannot find a niche in the guild where you can fit in and feel at home).

Best of luck =)

P.S.

lol :p

Will they still accept my SA credit card? :p

Oddly enough, I started playing wow when I was in SA. I moved to UK about a year ago. My account, debit order, everything was South African. No problem. And that was BEFORE the official release in SA. When I moved, I just stopped the debit order and changed to game cards.

I created a WoW account with a UK address and can use my SA credit card to pay for it. I was however not able to purchase the upgrades (wotlk) on the website :(

BTW. I RAF created a few accounts a few months ago. Never loaded gametime but you are free to take one of the extra accounts for free. Has a 60 hunter and a few lowbies on it. Only vanilla though.
