Hi there, anyone else noticed WoW consuming more bandwidth than normal?

I have a 2gig ADSL cap and normally it lasted the month but not lately. This month i made it to the 2nd week when i was on 90% used.

Anyone else noticed this? I almost only play WoW. Well I have been raiding Naxx 10 man .. say 3-4 times a week. But can a 10 man raid consume so much cap?

I cannot give you exact figures atm. But can anyone here tell me how much cap they use when doing 10 man raids? :)

Thanks.

100mb a day with TS during raids for me :>

dungeons and dragons online = 6-12mb for around 5 hours of play depending on how much time you spend in raids.

it outclasses wow quite heavily too, but its not a game for the disadvantaged with fewer brain cells.....

TBH thriel it's not D&D when it does not involve pens/paper/dice/cheese curls

Turbine did an excellent job on bringing the pen&paper concept into the mmorpg industry

download the trial and we'll speak again.

recieved a 9.6 out of 10 rating.

also do yourself a favour and go read up about module 8, it was just released and made MAJOR changes to the game.

also check the comments at the above url review, the game doesnt have a single bad comment, not one. that is very rare for a mmorpg.

if you tried it before module 8 i recommend you give it another spin. it is a very complex game which is the reason why alot of people give it a skip. module 8 however simplified the game alot for new players, while still leaving the option to do everything manually for advanced vets. Module 8 also introduced directx 10 into ddo.

here some screenshots.

character creation for example :

intro quests and gameplay :

new players have their own starting island now, here is a screenshot :

Aaaah, you mates with Boom?

no, dont know him. i play on US server, never really liked the EU servers, even with wow, the brittish just piss me off to much with their pommy attitude, the americans are much more friendly.

Infact, i think im gonna write a new review of some mmorpgs i currently play soon since most are bit out dated. I will post some pics as well as ingame video footage so people can see what the gameplay is like and not just judge off of trailers which are very misleading.

lol, how is that related to the pommy's ?

and i fail to see how your post is constructive in any way ?

he was asking about wow eating bandwitdh cap. i pointed him to a game that eats way less cap as a comparison and it turned into a constructive discussion, that was until you descided to post your boring and uwelcomed opinion ......

how else will you be able to judge a product until you compare it with another ? - in otherwords me posting here makes more sense than your posting here .......

Yes, I see how you answered all of the questions he asked right there. He did not ask about which game uses the most bandwidth, he asked if WoW was using more bandwidth than usual.

To answer the original question, check for any new addons that you have installed as they are known to eat through bandwidth. Also remember that with the public holidays you are going to use more bandwidth than you would during "normal" time.
