Does anyone know when the new expansion is due to be released? Even if its a estimated guess?
 
According to take2 it's Jul, 2008.

So, I think end of June or beginning of July is a save bet :p
 
Blizzard is only starting with the public beta testing in about a month, so no, I don't think June or July are reasonable estimates. At a push I'd say christmas, but with Blizzards policy of not releasing anything until its exactly ready the Feb 2009 estimate seems more reasonable.
 
Ok, but where does the online shops get their estimate release dates from then? They can't just thumb suck dates without some kind of indication from Blizzard, right?

They need to pick up the pace of that release, else Warhammer and AoC will steal a large portion of their player base.
 
Ok, you're right. Damn online shops. The official site also mentions that no release date had been announced yet.
 
I would guess the plan is to get it out before November to make the Xmas season but this was the plan with TBC as well and they let it slip until the new year for quality issues.

So I would guess the internal target is October but if they are not happy it will slip.
 
Never trust online stores and their dates. They will say absolutely anything to get a pre-order in. Its money they earn interest on and they have no obligation to release the game at that date.
 
i doubt they will release it in 2009,
it will probably be an End of July begining August release

and if they realy fel they need to do more then you will see a December release
 
With no-one having beaten Sunwell yet, and Season4 not yet released? Still a while off methinks. No earlier than Nov/Dec '08, that's where my money's at. So 'going dark' while you wait for the expansion is a surefire way to have nothing to do for 7 more months.
Time to push that progression, or invest in levelling up an alt.
I'm probably going to do both. The concept of a shadow priest intrigues me. :D

Some guilds have beaten Sunwell. But I agree S4 is just around the corner next couple of weeks i hope. They wouldnt have bothered with S4 if the expansion is getting released in two months. OMG all my hard earned epics down the crapper. down a butterfly and the green it drops will be better than our epics /cry
 
Mu'ru's been downed, he's 2nd last boss of Sunwell and according to those who've downed him, the hardest boss in WoW to date.

I think KJ is probably going to be simply borderline impossible until he's been tweaked, much like the original Vashj.
