WoW laptop specs

hi

Im looking to get a laptop specifically for WoW. I have a mean desktop PC, so obviously I cant expect to get anything quite as good, but I would like something decent that will be playable at least!

yes Im addicted to WoW... and the time spent on the road calls for a laptop so I can put that spare time to good use! :D

does anyone have some specs on hand? Perhaps you play on a laptop :confused:

I have the rec. and min specs for WoW... but generally that means nothing at all!!!!

I have played WoW on an Old HP Laptop,Intel P4 1.4 with 256MB Ram and crappy intel onboard gfx at minimum settings :P
 
I play on a laptop, but honestly, its hardly a laptop:
Acer 8920g

My gf plays on an Acer Ferrari 4000, basic specs are 2ghz AMD proc(1 core), 1 gb ram (def recommend more) and 128mb ATI gfx card. Setting are all set low, except res (1680x1050, windowed mode) and everything runs fine, a big of lag here and there, but nothing unplayable.

i have a Dell XPS M1530. Its a dream for playing games on. i am currently running Tom Clancy's Rainbow six - Vegas 2. Plus the display on the XPS is great.
 
If you could load the game client on your phone you would be able to play WoW on there :D

It doesn't require a mean machine. Damn anything that can connect to the internet can play wow :o

sell your car and your house and get an Apple laptop. You wont regret it. lol.
 
With a Dual SLI, Raid 0 (thats 2) Solid State Hard drives. It's probably better than a mac

hehe. yeah. probably is.

I have a £850 HP dual core AMD laptop, so I can play when I go to Preston every 2 weeks, from the hotel. Not the greatest. FPS is about 45. For the last 2 weeks, I MT'd in SSC, ZA while the blizzard downloader was going and didnt notice any major difference. Teamspeak as well. I definately cant run fraps or the like. Smaller screen(17" from 22") was initially irritating, but you get used to it.

2 areas where I think you get more performance from WoW is having a 2nd hard disk and more ram. The 2nd hard disk on a laptop is rare. Very expensive too. You can pretty much getting away with most graphic cards and cpu. Interesting to see what WotLK does to performance on setups that are marginal
 
My wife was running WoW on a p3 933 Mhz, 256mb ram and a FX5200 graphics card before I upgraded her machine.

Top that and enjoy WoW ;)

Dell are not the best, the XPS and Inspiron range are plagued with NMI: Parity Error problems.

I play on a Macbook Pro:) No problems
 
I have a HP laptop, AMD Turion 2.2Ghz x2
2gb Gb RAM
250Gb HDD
Geforce 8400M GS

Plays wow just fine.
