sooo anybody here who is playing guild wars 2 getting MOP? And if so how is it so far does it stack up againts guildwars2 or is it better or is guildwars 2 better. Was thinking of getting Wow MOP but it just seems to be the same old stuff with a new skin

Thats exactly what MOP is, same old sh#t with a new name.

I bought GW2 and im really enjoying it (this coming from a wow player who hated anything not wow). Its not the same traditional MMO restrictions that WoW has. Combat is completely different in a very good way, Questing is way above WoW's questing system, Crafting is cool - nothing amazing but its good. No standard Tank/Healer/DPS for dungeons.

It is a very good game, especially when you consider there are no monthly subs.

Who cares.

I have watched some guys playing MoP and I still think GW2 is better.
wow hasnt changed much, and GW2 addressed some of the things that made wow annoying in the first place so Im very happy sticking with it, and all that without subs!

Meh, was super amped for guild wars and I'm bored to death with it after 2 weeks. Dungeons are yawn, questing gets really repetitive despite the dynamic events. Being able to unlock all your abilities so early removes some of the incentive to keep playing, as well as there being no real endgame.

That's just my opinion, if you are enjoying GW2 then that's great.

Are you playing MOP? I cant even login to my server as its too busy :/

Personally, I have not played GW2, but the people I know who did buy it... are all playing MOP now. They said it was boring like D3. Fun for a short while then boring.

Think I will hold out for MOP most reviews i had read are pritty much saying the same thing

Hey there Croatia, this is my thoughts on the matter.

When i see questions like this, I am quite reluctant to answer. I eventually spoke up on another thread someone had posted here a few days ago, as I thought the only negative comment made about GW2 had no context and in my little world no sense. So I asked for justification, which has still not been responded to by either of the posters.

Please take this coming from an obvious fanboy of GW2. I am not going to pretend I am something else, so take my comments with a pinch of salt or the wisdom they may hold. What I have realised is that some people prefer certain types of MMO's, and no matter how good another one is in your view, those people for whatever reason are just not going to like it. I played GW1 for over 6 years, and then while waiting for GW2 to arrive, thought I would try WoW when Cataclysm came out. I struggled for about a month to get into it, and this was coming from someone playing GW1 with far fewer features when compared to WoW. Though for me there was something about GW1's depth and gameplay that made me feel WoW was superficial.

So i really would love to tell you GW2 is better, but as i don't know you or your gaming likes/dislikes, I would prefer to suggest somehow you try it out. Having said that, I make two observations:
Dynamic events in GW2 are scripted. Though, so is all game AI. So as much as we can say they are dynamic and are supposed to occur like real world random events, they are obviously scripted. Also, these random events can be seen similar to normal quests like other MMORPG's, though as one gets to higher level areas, they do have chains that allow them to make a difference to the world around you. This is waaaay superior to any simple quest system. Give me this over WoW any day.
Second, the down scaling of your character to match an area is nice. There are things in place to make sure your higher level upgrades do make a diffference, but you don't get to a point where low level stuff is no contest. This makes it much nicer to redo lower level content. That is IMHO.

So yeah, there one can go into the usual stuff why GW2 is better, but I am hesitant to say that is what makes it a better game for you. It is the ignorant fool that says either of the games are crap.

Concerning GW2 being compared to Diablo 3. I realise the poster did not make it above, and was just repeating what others he heard were saying, so I am not flaming him for it. Possibly you can say Skyrim is similar to GW2, but D3??? That is really nuts. What really made an impact on me with D3, is that everything revolved around the auction house. I played D3 until mid nightmare. My best friend played until mid inferno. Neither of us ever picked up anything through farming or through crafting that we would ever use. Everything reloved around getting enough money to buy your stuff off the auction house. So playing the game for me was just to make money so I could buy gear to progress. In GW2, playing the game itself, and crafting, picking up loot, can certainly get you gear that you would actually use.
Anyway, that is just a pet peeve i have with D3, and not really the question a hand. "GW2 is boring like D3", because it was fine for a while then got same old same old. Again, This is not the same for everyone. I personally believe the people who make that comment will be playing MOP for a short while as well.

Been Playing GW2 and been having a blast (got a lvl 40 ranger), the one thing i can say personally is i never loved the lvling in wow I used to rush to max lvl so I could get to end game but in GW2 I been loving the pve which for me is a first :)

I played wow for around 5 years and whilst it was a great MMO I started to lose Interest in it after Cata as it felt like the same thing all over again as well as the content has got soooo easy that most of it does not pose a challenge anymore. Now apparently from what i have been reading they have dumbed wow down even more and from what i have seen from some live feeds of the game it just looks and feels the same as Cata and wotlk. Suppose i wont know until i try it but do i really want to waist the cash to find out iam just gonna play it for a month

I plan on playing both, starting with GW2.

well already started gw2. loving it, but it lacks the polish that wow has.

no trade system, no lfg

GW2, i think you are going to need to give it some time to balance out and get into gear. It has only been out for a month, a month after wow started it was apparently in shambles.

Could you explain what you mean by no trade system? I thought the BLTC was excellent? I assume I have misunderstood you?
Could you also explain your concept of LFG, as there is that in GW2. The problem is many don't know it exists and it is limited in how much info you can post, but it is there and it works well... If people would use it.

I think a lot of people are looking for a direct person to person trade system like we had in GW, bypassing the BLTC. The only way to do this currently is via mail and the willingness to trust whomever you are trading with.

Personally, I love the BLTC, find something good in the field, list it for sale, get back to town and pick up my money :)

Intersting. I know some had mentioned that when the game first came out, but i thought it was a minority of the minority. I prefer the new system. Spent too many hours in Kamadaan, and ToA's, and running up to people to give stuff sucked in my opinion. Maybe we can have both options I dont know, but if they opted for one, I guess I would take the trade store now.

I got both games. i stopped playing MOP. I just didn't feel up for the grind it created. plus i had like 4 chars i wanted to play. but was impossible due to what you had to do with one char to get where you wanted.

guildwars I only still play when i feel like it. I enjoy it when i'm playing with friends.

although sometimes i miss wow and the mounts and pets it had. but i believe as soon as i play it again ill just get upset quickly.
