I am having a very peculiar problem... My internet is working fine, browsing, downloading, etc. but the problem i am having is with World Of Warcraft. Since last night my ping in WoW has been anywhere from 3000 to actually jumping to 25000 ms. Has anyone else experienced similiar problems? I am guessing it has something to do with the ports that the game is using and Telskum closing them off or caping them for some unfatomable reason??? I just would like to know if i am alone in this or if there are other people getting the same BS from our MOST favourite tele company in the WHOLE WIDE world...

I tested it last night and it was 276k/bits

As i said, my i-net is fine, its only the game that is laging like crazy...

just checking.. 192k subscribers are having lots of problems.
 
No my official speed is 376 k/bits (i always forget the exact number, it's the one lower than the 512k/bits line)
 
My prob is diferent, im not experiencing any slow down in browsing and downloading, only in game play... The game is using port 3724, maybe that can help in some way.

JA i get fast every thing except World of Warcraft average ping from last night 4000+

WoW = eu server's.
ISP = SAOL
ADSL = 512

Just suX well at least i have 75 fishing skill now ;(
 
Hehe. I just found out from my father that this isnt the only prob. He has a website and since last night he's been having major problems uploading to his server. So my guess is. it's not the port that is capped, it's the upload that has been buggered and that's why we are laging in the game as well.

What i love is, Telkom doesn't even have a news section on their website... Otherwise i guess it will be full of problems they are having all the time.

I dont get that, since SAOL uses SAIX backbone... ISP doesn't matter then.
 
somthing went down last night and all wow players r suffering
and no1 else seems to have noticed a difference
i know all few ppl on various ISPs ,who play wow,suffering from this

Lats 4 days WoW has been terrible for me (US Earthen Ring Server), even with the nukecap prox. With proxy about 3-4s lag, without it up to 15s lag. I think it's mostly as people are abusing what's left of their BW till the end of the month.
 
This is pretty shocking. On unshaped and my latency is 4s! Fetch the pitchforks and pikes folks!
 
So much for Telkom not shaping the connections... Lying bastards.

WoW isn't the only problem, getting tons of lag while trying to play Horizons too.

I hope they choke on all the money they are making off of us.

By the way, i'm on Magtheridon, US server. If anyone else is playing on this server give me a shout. Nick is Eagenin.
 
Rather use one of NukeCap's UUNET proxies for the last couple of days in the month....solves my latency issues....
