So I sign up for 5 gigs, get my username password the works, then I get a mail from [email protected] asking for an ID, this will obviously take till tomorrow afternoon to get sorted.

Why dont you play open cards Afrihost, and just tell people there is a 24 hour turnaround time instead of stating instant activation.

They usually sort it out pretty quickly. Mine was done within 1 hour. After hours.

And it has been mentioned everywhere that an ID will be needed.

Mine was done in 20 mins. And yes it has been stated many times over.

Just to add my 2c. I also felt the same when I signed up (around 8 at night). So, I email to legal and go on with life. About 10 mins later email arrives from legal, stating that everything has been verified. Was really surprised that someone was sitting in a legal department at 20:20...

Thanks Afrihost

Well its now 30 minutes here, nothing. Opened 3 tickets, tried to mail, all I get are these courtesy auto replies.

Oh nm its been verified, nice.. hope its not contended like Screamer, I could do with some stress free ISP experiences..

OMG... less QQ moar pewpew nub.

All sorted, this was my response:

"Awesome thank you :)

And I see my traffic isn't congested in filthy little pipes like it was with Screamer ADSL, I spit on their company's liquidated corpse.

Thank you.

Have a good evening."

a) asking for ID is standard practice. maybe sometime along the line it will sink in.
b) it is instant after you have been verified. no one *just* dishes out the goods before some sort of ID in some manner is established.
