If you didn't change your account type to CT before cata was released you will need to dl a 880mb patch before playing

um I call horsepoop. I did no such thing and all I had to do was re-download the updated tools and a 130-odd mb patch, and I was good to go. would love to know what you lot are doing

Cataclysm maybe? I assume he's referring to upgrading your -account- [on battle.net] to cataclysm . Only way i think you could do it before launch was to buy digitally from Blizzard directly though.? Either way, i was all set yesterday [did not need patches and was playing] , will check tonight if i need to download anything.

Did your launcher have background downloading enabled?
I'm only getting my cata tomorrow, so i'll rant about not having enough cap for the patches too!

Can confirm, i had ZERO patching to do . My account was of course "cataclysm enabled" a week ago already , so it patched somewhere over the weekend.
That said, i was actually playing this last week...it'll certainly be a different issue if you did not log in this last month .
