It's a google service to collect traffic statistics for a website

Its the google bot.
It analyses the website for ranking purposes.
The other Google bot takes a snapshot of the website and caches it.

Its an annoyance like most other 3rd party statistics collection sites, quite I often I find that pages never complete loading, and 9 times out of 10 its because of these. I quickly add them to my block lists.

Yeah, often a site gets stuck loading google-analytics.com, I just block it, or stop the loading, and the rest of the site works fine.
