WTF - Three Month Cough!

Greetings wannabee Docs!

Now, Head Office wants me to go see the Doc, but I ain't that was inclined unless something is falling off me...

 :(

Rather see a doc as she certainly doesn't want to see something useful falling off, otherwise you won't get any
coffee served in bed anymore.

Looking for an old post found this..

Five years down the line...still have this cough....no blood.... must be nasal drip..coz it never got worse and I am still here..:p:p
Are you taking high blood pressure medication?

Please see a lung specialist. What started out as a sore throat for me about the same time ended up being 8 months of hell. I developed a severe cough and after 12 DR visits ended up going to a lung specialist and got everything sorted within a month.

What ended up happening was I became hyper sensitve to any new smells or stimulus due to a new neural pathway formed. Lung specialist said they have seen it twice in their 20 year careers. All sorted now but it was absolute hell. I would wake up with my lungs seizing in the middle of the night not being able to breathe.

Non smoker or asthma etc was the healthiest I ever was in my life running 40-60km a week.

Please see a lung specialist

This is interesting, but as stated , this was an old post and after five years, nothing has gotten worse and it no longer bothers me..... I have been to specialists for full medicals and cat scans and nothing out of the ordinary, think this is just a tick that no longer bothers me....

thanks for the concern though.....

Nope, in fact the Uromax I take for my darling enlarged prostate lowers blood pressure, this is why I drink so much , to try and raise my bloed druk....keep it all level..... ;)
Might still be related.

A cough is a well known side effect of blood pressure meds. In which case you need to change your meds. Check the pamphlet that comes with yours and I bet you a cough is an known side effect. In which case, change you meds.

Just came off Ramipril after a year - thank **** the annoying, dry cough is gone!

I developed a cough after the flu injection last year and two mild flues afterwards. Just though it was a lingering cough from the flu.

But finally had to admit it's the meds. So I have to change my BP meds now. The first type I took in 2015 also gave me a cough.

I have been coughing since Sept 2018. 4 different anti biotic strains, x-ray cardiac echo ecg and no idea.

Had a bad post nasal drip for about 8 years. It only stopped when I got off Gluten. Turns out I had a mild allergy I was not aware of. I could live with it, but feel a lot healthier now that I am off it.

my 10c:
oesophageal irritation caused by acid reflux (esp since worse when lying down)

also won't be picked up with tests and what not

the blood could be from an ulcer in the bottom of the oesophagus

go to a gastro-enterologist (try altosec OTC pack - if your symptoms get better then go to a gastro)

Just a thought, you sleep away from home sometimes when you go to Potch/CT, would be good to know if it happens when you sleep in a different bed. Would be good to know if it is environmental or not. Heard of a few people who had alergic reactions to pillows, duvets, or the carpets in their bedrooms etc.

Great advice.

Go to the doc ASAP. It can be something trivial. However, I recall a few years ago about a guy who couldn't shake the cough for 6 months. Ended up as stage 4 cancer

^This

happended to one of my friends, healthy chap, went to doc, cancer chemo and kapoet in less that a month.

I got my prostate results back from my Helderberg based Urologist, "0.8 Moose, you're good to go, and there is no need to see me every year, see you in two......"

I smiled and rubbed my hernia mesh that stepped up to take my attention......coz the older you get, something has to hurt...... ;)
