Hi

Is the UUNET international ****ed again, since last night i am downloading at 2k from overseas ftp and http. What gives this is really up to ****. Anyone else with this ?

Well what are they doing about it, i have a business to run i am not playing games here **** this, this is bull****, where is your thread ?

This is now even starting to affect speed from their datacenter to Telkom's DSL Network... I'm also getting rather tired of this, they've been 'trying' to fix this for months already now.

If I could log into my gmail account I'd be canceling the service right now!

See what you mean about GMail. I am in a tight spot now, I don't want to start with Axxess till my month is pretty much over but I can't really use the net ATM. Never would have thaught that UUNet could have done this. Turning into the second MyWireless.

Guys, I just talked to UUNET in their Durban Office. A big problem occured after their last upgrade last night and it will be fixed during this day.

But another problem occured. UUNET has stopped all further subscriptions and a new strategy will be put in place. Uncapped service will fall away and a "pay as used" strategy will be put in place. A small amount will be charged with for example a 5 gb Cap and everything over that cap will go as price/MB. They are already in an advanced stage, because it needs to implement all limiting software which was not needed for the uncapped service. Prices tough, are not known yet, but will be announced in due course.

Well they just lost me as a subscriber cos the reason I got UUNet was that it's uncapped. Thats going to change and the fact that the service has become useless. Cheers UUNet will be leaving soon.

Make that 2 then

I dont have time for them to implement their latest money making scheme. So with the new strategy whats going to be the difference between them and telkom?

I don't see any difference anymore. Lets wait and look for the price, they are maybe more competitive then Telkom...

This country - somehow someone always manages to find a way to buck against global trends and take a step backwards.

@Celemasiko - I think you should start a new thread with that news re the pay-as-you-go UUNet.

I seriously cannot believe you've taken UUNET's carp for so long.
Yall deserve some kind of loyalty award from UUNET for what you've taken.
What's the odds of that happening ? i.e. UUNET admitting they've buggered you around for 5 months now, and giving you redemption ?

1 in 512 ? Giggle.

I'd not stick with them simply because they won't refund me, remain invisible behind their screen of resellers, and do not publically admit anything, nor help their resellers out. UUNET also have made so many changes that they should change their name, because they are not the old trustworthy reliable UUNET that they used to be.

I layed a support message just now actualy

Its taking me over 10 minutes to sync my mail box.. not sure how I'm supposed to get any work done :/

yup, can confirm that. Solution : cancelled my account and got something else that works
