X1 vs 3 series vs Audi A4

Sorry but as u can see I am lost to what to buy. Any advices?? I do need a spacious car with good boot size ( the E 90 three got a small boot) as we are heavy travelers. The X1 don't look too bad. Budget of 280 - 300 Max. Looking at a demo or even one year old car with low mileage. The thing I did notice is that dealers are crying for business and are dropping prices to get the sale done!

... and comparatively poor resale value. Which translates to getting a massive amount of car for your money; something worth considering if you're planning to keep a vehicle for a few years.

Meh, styling's a subjective matter but from your opening post that didn't look to be a primary consideration. It might be a bit bland, but I don't think any reasonable person would call it ugly.

It isn't that it's bad, it's that it can't compete against the luxury models from BMW/AUDI/Merc/VW etc.

Korean cars have improved a hell of a lot over the last couple of years but they aren't quite there yet.

Fact.

I have a couple of friends with BMWs, and not a single one of them has not had at least one major issue with their car. At least it's covered by the motorplan, but they're less reliable than you'd think.

I've had 3 Beemers over the last 15 years(E30,E46 & E90) and I've yet to experience any major issues with a BMW. Most expensive was the clutch and that was covered by BMW motorplan.

If you think the E90 boot space is not sufficient for you then both the 3 series and A4 won't won't work. I suggest you look at something like a Tiguan.
