Check the busted look&listen Xbox360 on www.lazygamer.co.za , man how unreliable are these consoles? How many people here have had their 360 breakdown. Dont own 1 myself but my bro. Does.

How do you tell the difference between gen 1 and 2?And has your brother's unit broken down as yet? I guess not. I am on my 2nd Xbox 360 now after the first gen broke down 5 months after use. No issues with the 2nd gen one thus far.
In regards to the poll, how can you be sure trolls wont post just for hate-sake?![]()

Actually, the build date is available by looking at the serial number.

This is useful for those buying a new console in store since they don't have access to the build date on the back of the unit. The other numbers in the serial number also mean something specific but isn't important as far as the date goes. To answer the question, the last two digits represent which manufacturing plant built the console. 05 = China, 06 = Taiwan.
Power surge last night caused my xbox to flash the three red rings last night!! I almost had a heart attack!!
That's why you backup your firmware settings . . ..![]()
um... we in south africa! we got the 2nd gen ones coz they only came out late last year...
lol - thanks. I was prepared to work of the 5 digits as recommended by the post but right above the serial number . . . MFR Date - 2006-07-26Hope this helps.
sure, checked my bros' 360 .. 25 July 06. However, when its connected & he touches the metalic parts of the machine (ie. HDD metal strip) )it shocks him; he couldnt be arsed to get a replacement, enquire or whatever until something worse "eventually" happens. It seems like almost all x360 owners spend most of their time with their fingers crossed.
