My first one lasted two weeks ... my second one is now on 3 months.

Could just be the grounding in the wiring, check his cables for damage and/or get a replacement cable.

Sorry, I meant an earth problem in the house... Obviously not though.

Check the cables... I have never heard of this happening with a Xbox 360... Something is not so lekker there, if all else fails though he should just get it replaced...

The 360 isnt earthed.

Perhaps thats it but there's no third prong on the brick or even a slot on the cord for one. (Tried to use the cord one day for a pc and it wouldn't fit)
