I've got over 200GB worth of FLAC files have never had an issue with the tagging in MP3Tag - but I've got an issue and not if it's a simple thing I'm missing!

In MP3TAG this particular album has every fields filled in correctly (artist, track, album) - but it lists in XBMC as 'unknown artist' and 'track 1) ... I can't figure out why?

Maybe rebuilding the library or a simple reboot?
Anyone has this issue?

First thing's first, you did scan these folders into the library, right?
Perhaps test with just one file or send it via zippyshare or the like for someone else to test it out. That might help to determine whether it is your settings or the files themselves...

I've scanned them in like all the others files/albums - but this particular doesn't display info.

I just tried on my PC in VLC as well and under media info it also displays. Seems something in XBMC.

I guess I'll reboot and then send through to a kind soul

And here's a possible answer:

Well, first of all, and no offense, but your tags are terrible. But that's not why XBMC wouldn't read it. It's because your file was tagged FLAC (id3v2.3). They need to be FLAC (FLAC). In mp3tag, select all your OFFENDING FLAC (id3v2.3) files, hit right click, cut tag, click yes, then right click, paste tag, click yes.

Thanks DJ ... !

Will give it a bash!

May I dropbox a FLAC to someone to check what they see, especially in XBMC?

You can PM me and I'll have a look some time today. Or post a public link here...

Thanks DJ.

Just need to reinstall (formatted the other day and forgot) then upload 25MB

AS I say, it was only XBMC that didn't pick it up - the programs on the PC pick up the tags and I have a Logitech Squeezebox which also pick up the tags. XBMC - however - lists at Track 1.

I've reinstaled XBMC, the OS and even tried a fresh install on the OS/XMBC on another PC - but nothning
I'll PM you
