XBMC Supersport Addon

Streaming on their site has now become a complete waste of time.

This is the last straw. Time to cancel my DSTV. Ironic that I can't stream locally with my paid for DSTV account and details, but I can stream perfectly and in better quality on Sky Sports.

Ridiculous...

This company is very slow to embrace the digital online movement - just like the US cable companies.

They are going to see their "gat" faster than they can imagine - when customers change to a new trend, it normally happens very fast

Just look at Nokia and Black Berry for forward planning 2 years ago

Hey,

For some reason supersport decoder 1.58 starts giving me an "error in action 392".

I assume that the streaming channels are out of range now - anyway to get back in?

Will appreciate any help - Thanks

Hi enerdude (or perhaps Tinuva),
I'm getting the same error as COMPUTEK and Harold-Ferwood). It was just sometimes until recently, but now it's all the time.

If you don't have time to look at it yourself, could you send me the source code for the VLC app? Or an explanation of how to build it? Perhaps I can find out what the problem is.

The real problem is, Multichoice is now forcing DRM on all the streams instead of just some times. Sadly, there is no way we can run these streams without looking thoroughly at the source code of the flash player. Just remember, they obfuscate the code really well now, its far too much work work, if not impossible to figure out now.

If you want to blame anybody, blame the person who was using this addon, ripping out the authentication requirement code, and then uploading it to other sites on the internet so that people could watch it even if they didn't have a smartcard # and account.

Their streams are practically useless though at the moment. I had better quality, faster streams of the rugby from an international stream of Sky Sports on the weekend.

Sports Devil did the trick...

Also using Sports Devil now, just wish there was an easier and quicker way, I will pay for a streaming service that has a Plex plugin.

I'd happily pay for a service too. Anyone know of reputable paid-for streaming services that we can use without VPNs and the like?

I googled, but can only find the free ones, which are rather hit-or-miss. I'd imagine the paid sites to have better quality and easier access...

Wish we could get SkyGo :(

Just tried to stream the cricket legally from Supersport's site on an unshaped 2MB line and it buffered within the first 5 seconds. I saw 72-1 and that was all. I heard a commentator say "bet on it" which reminded me that we were playing against Pakistan, but again, that's all I got.

So to illegal streaming it is for me, and I logged in to Multichoice and immediately disabled my account with them. I assume this means that I'll be billed for one more month and then that is that.

So long DSTV - your only saving grace was sport, and you just cocked that up too. Hello illegal Sky streams or a paid-for service if I can find one...

Try Futubox, they have Sky Sports 1 HD and I think you don't need a VPN. However I have noticed there quite a few people having trouble with it. Though I would prefer a site that have all 3 Sky Sport channels.

I like what they offer but it doesn't look too "legal" and I wouldn't really need all those foreign language channels. I might just try it out though to check, wouldn't waste more than a months sub anyway I guess.

I've used services like FutuboxHD before. They don't last. Anyone remember FlashSportStreams...

Hi guys. I tested Futubox some time back. It was a catastrophe. The streams were either down or buffering like crazy. I have a 100Mb DL link so no issues on my side as far as bandwidth is concerned. I tried contacting their "support" a few times but they always had the standard answers...blaming the weather, a faulty server etc. At one stage they even removed the sky sport channels without any pre-warning and swapped them with some Hungarian cooking channels or something like that ;-) Needless to say I did not extend my subscription. Either way if anyone tested them recently and have better experiences I would appreciate an update.

Thanks for the feedback. I won't be wasting money on this then.

have a look at superusvoxtv.
Unfortunately the xbmc version does not seem to work at the moment, but website does.
There are quite a few more out there, most also on devilsport.

Pitty that supersport on xbmc has so many issues. Although the number of streams was limited, they were always until recently among the most reliable ones....
