Hey all,

When i turned my xbox on the other night, the colour had a green tinge to it and after a while started stuttering... weird.

Anyway I turned it off checked the AV cables etc and when turned it on no video signal. The sounds works as i hear the start up track etc. Can hear the dashboard being played with if i wiggle the controls etc - however there is no visual.

I personally think the AV port/cable is poked. TV is fine as housemates DVD works fine through the same AV ports.

Any ideas? or should i send it in for repairs?

once again proves that the xbox should be called crap box!!

it last 6 months to a year then caput

There is a switch on the side of the av cable. Make sure it is set correctly for your setup, otherwise there will be no video (this happened to me). The switch is easily flipped by mistake when pluggin the cable in and out

PS3 SUCKS!

To answer your lifespan comment, I've had my xbox since december 2006, not one issue. I play 4-5 times a week (wow has a grip on my life :p)

i checked that out - it was literally working one day, turned it on the next day and not working. Scouring the internet to no avail, or proper solution.

I think something has failed in it. odd thing is no red lights to help diagnose the problem. Will try an alternative cable.

The green tinge is just a marketing ploy to tell you how Cool the Xbox is! It's also a limited time offer free voucher to swap your 360 for a new one.

...Offer expires 1 year after purchase, or 3 years if the green goes Red (as a limited "competitive upgrade")

;)

Xbox 360 rocks!!! Perfect entertainment piece of hardware! Use mine for gaming and movies. :D Still going strong. Planning to connect Media Center in near future.

and SCORE! Free hard drive in the process. Worth the drive to wherever you bought it for a swapout if you ask me.

how does it work - i got the reference number - do i just go to CNA (place i bought it from) with proof of purchase and swap it out? Can i got to any xbox retailer?
