Hi Folks,

Know a relative who going over to Dubai on Sunday and she's offered to get me stuff from over there. :D

Anyone know if it'll be cheaper there? I'm busy google-ing at the moment, cant seem to find anything....

Also does anyone know if there'll be problems getting an Xbox system from there? ie. PAL/NTSC or power supply issues?

Thanks

Edit: Damn! just found this out - http://www.dubaicityguide.com/geninfo/news_dtls.asp?newsid=3944

Seems like it only launches on the 26th of April.

YUUUUPPPP. it's cheaper no doubt but there's a tiny problem that you going to run into, and thats called region lock. now region lock. but i think the middle east has the same region code as us, but you should do a little research into that

Hey guys thanks for the replies..

SO anyway, there I was sitting, watching the Sharks thump the Reds 50 -16 (or something like that), so I was really in a good mood.

Strangely enough half an hour later I was at Fourways Musica to get my 360 bundle with the extra wireless controller for 4k.. I'm so Happy :D :D

Pretty limited with the games at the moment. Got WWE(which came with the bundle) and FIFA 07, will be getting GOW soon!!

Anyway just like to thank all the PS3 and Xbox fans for the debates in all the threads which helped me decide which was the better console to go for ;)

Good times..

yeah meant I dont have much at the moment! :) what else could it have meant? It's not like I have a PS3 :D :D

ROFL.... true...

You just need to buy 2-3 more and then start trading with people instead of buying more...

Easiest way. I only keep the games I really enjoy and the rest I just trade around, it saves us all in paying out money for average games....

yeah. i also found Tradestation yesterday.

Got rid of WWE and got GOW. so now I'm screwed and I'm probably gonna fail my CFA exams in June :(

Another thing, its called customs and its a nice 20-30%

Naaaice, so come now, what's your gamertag ;) My chainsaw's itching . . .

Im scared, really I am. ;) From the 5mins of GOW I got in last night I can truly say I sucked big time :D Guess I have to get comfortable not using a KB and mouse.

I have a 3G connection at the moment so I dont think I'll be playin over live yet. Will it work?

Hopefully *crosses fingers* I'll get ADSL later this year. I the mean time I'll keep practising :)

3G will work fine for local GOW....

post your tags...

Doobiwan my wife is going away for the next couple of days so are we up for a game some time this week?

Cool.

Any idea on bandwidth consumption for local games?

Also just to check you've gotta register with a UK address, correct?? Are you able to change it once Live is officially launched here?

You have to register with a UK address / Postcode E16 2Sp works fine.

I have no idea if you can move it after it gets launched here but I don't see any reason why we couldn't.

As long as you don't host the bandwidth is not to bad.... I used 200 Mb for about 20 hours I think..... I lose track though

XBL bandwidth is pretty low, a lot better than some popular PC games, even with VoIP *cough* BF2 *cough*.

Apparently you will not be able to move accounts after creation. My plan is to keep my gameplay account UK and I'll create a new local "content" account when XBL ZA opens.
