xbox 360 media remote

Hey guys

so recently i turned my old xbox 360 into a media centre and now have Netflix and other streaming platforms running of the console. The problem I'm having is using my controller the whole time is frustrating and the xbox glass phone app takes time to connect each time i want to do something.

I have been on the hunt for the xbox 360 remote control but haven't had much luck. I found the xbox one version (http://www.takealot.com/xbox-one-media-remote-xbox-one/PLID32816941) but don't know if its compatible with the old 360.

can anyone confirm whether this will work?

I bought one from eBay a few years back. Works nicely.

Apologies, I should have been clearer. I bought a 360 remote from eBay. I was suggesting you try doing that.

The cheaper remotes are infrared and not RF like the regular controller - just keep in mind that you need line of sight.
 
I read they're not compatible.

Sold my 360 though, so can't test - but I'd suspect the review was accurate
