Hi there,

I've been having this problem for weeks now and can't seem to fix it. My XBOX is able to connect to and stream content from all PC's in my household that are connected to the router wirelessly, but as soon as you try to connect to a wired PC (ethernet to router), it simply doesn't pick it up on the XBOX side.

Never had this problem with my old router, but then I got DSL and Telkom gave me this crappy DuoPlus300wr PoS. Does anyone maybe know the cause of this problem?

What IP addresses are the devices on the wireless and wired networks getting? Is the 360 connected via wired or wireless?

If they are on different subnetworks (e.g. 192.168.1.0 and 192.168.2.0), then you may have difficulty discovering devices on the other network to the one that you are connected to.

Both have the exact same IP ranges. The 360 is connected via Wireless, and my PC is connected via Ethernet.

Can the wireless PC's connect to the wired PC's? Specifically, can they stream in the same way as the Xbox 360 does?

My next suspicion is that there is a firewall on the ethernet connected PC.

I had exactly the same issue with that router.
I think it has something to do with the broadcasting for discovery.
The router just doesn't handle it, i fixed this by putting Gb ethernet switch in on the hard cabled side.
Banged my head against the wall for ages.
Also tried enabling pnp disabling firewall.. if you do find out what configurational issue is causing this I would be appreciative.

Streaming is fine from the wireless PCs. It seems to be only the Xbox that's having trouble detecting it. I've borrowed a USB wireless network card just now from a friend, and voila, the Xbox can connect to the PC. :wtf:

This has got to be some sort of router problem as deepdiver mentioned.
