Xbox 360 sells most games per console

Xbox console has been in the market a year longer than competitors... thus installed base is higher.

In other news, the sun is expected to rise in the East tomorrow. ;)

EDIT: @arf - oh yes and it might be because MS are pricing their console as if it has been around for 8 years and not (insert number here). Definately a good a move...
 
If those numbers are right the Wii has still sold a lot more software than either of the others. Of course their profit on each game sold may be less. Also depends on their profit margin on the consoles.

Is the PS3 catching up or is it getting further behind? Will its price hurt it even more in the current economic climate?

The stupid price of the Nintendo hardware here can't be helping local sales.
 
got wii and xbox, and dont see them as two clashing consoles, wii is fun to play with "non-gamers' and xbox is like way fun to play with my more "gaming orientated" friends. (tip: chicks dig wii)

But makes sense that the xbox is king and still in the market, the games are just that good and the console is keeping up with it's younger rivals.

The Wii is never going to a replacement for either the xbox or the ps3... its an alternative console for a much larger market... I am in the market for a Wii sometime soon to complement my xbox.

As for the xbox selling more games, well they do have more AAA titles so it stands to reason that the attach rate is higher than the PS3... and yes, the installed base is larger...

I completely disagree. A bottle of vodka and Wii Sports and even the most hardcore gamer will be in heaven. The Wii is just more fun period. Granted you wouldnt like to play for a long time on the Wii (unless its a really brilliant title like Zelda/Mario) but then again, who cares. The glory days of multiple person in the living room chaos (ala Micro Machines/Bomberman) were brought screaming into the Next Gen battle with the Wii.
 
ha ha , well true that..if u get a wii must have game number one = smash bro's, then super mario galaxy....beautiful amounts of fun. Mario cart is also good for Smokey's "vodka enticed gaming" ...
and unless your a Zelda fan dont buy Zelda for wii, I found it one long drawn out tedious affair
 
It may of course be that the xbox games are more hype than entertainment - resulting in people buying more games to get over the boredom...

Then again, it may not be.
