XBOX 360 when, where, who's the cheapest

Animeworx at Bright Water Commons will stock from the 14th of December. It seems they will mostly have the Full house edition with HDD and Wireless controller. Ranging from R3600 to R3800.

MS will launch it in ZA next year, no info on when but they have said that it will come to ZA. So pay more now or wait for later, just watch out for region issues, if it is a US 360 it might not work with EU/ZA titles later on and you are going to be stuck importing titles.

The Animeworx X360 versions will be from AU/NZ just like the Xbox they sell, it works fine with all PAL games.

Officially look for SA release around Q2 2006 from quite a few shops in JHB.

a full house edition with 2 wireless controls, a remote(the smaller included one) and a game under R3500 whould be a OK buy for me, check the ToysRus.co.uk website, this is a nice bundle

R3500??!?! you in a dream world. forgot about SA tax duties? lol!

its not "tax duties" as much as "we gonna shaft you for huge profit margins".

your price is not horrific, but think about huge sales. R3499 (full package, 1 game, the included remote, TWO wireless controllers). I would tell all my friends!!!

Have you people seen the price of games: 40 pounds a pop which translates to close on R500 a game after import duties.

whats wrong with R500 for console games? we've been paying Sony ripoffs for ages at that price until they dropped it a few months back.

and considering the current PS2 is almost double priced in SA if you compare to the EU or US who is really ripping us off?

Ster Kinekor I believe, which is the problem.

Once again a single Monopoly has distribution rights for all PS2 stuff and games in the country. Why is it that in the UK a brand new "Silver" PS2 is only R960 when here, we have to pay R1600 for the plain black one? (And UK VAT is 4% higher than here!)

Thank goodness the Revolution and PS3 are going to be region free!

the ps3 *may* be region free (speculation on my part too) but the bits I have read point to the games being restricted to the particular console it is being played on.

i.e. play it on your machine, then take the disc to your buddy's house, his ps3 will refuse to play it. This may not be a big deal for some people, but for me it is a HUGE deal. I dont knwo how the technology works, but they have filed a patent for this for the ps3.

P.S. maybe get my 360 tomorrow or thurs.:-) yippee

Bastaaaaaa@ard!!! ;) Jealousy in action . . .

True, with Sony latest drm antics either they'll learn something or we're in for more trouble.

That's why I'm a revolution man :p Gameboy DS specifically allows you to share a single copy of a game on multiple devices to play multiplayer.

me waiting for the 2 weeks to fly by... then its Xbox 360 time on my new HDTV... :p
