Xbox 360 Wireless Controller

Yesterday the wireless controller on my 360 was working fine. Today I turn it on and it won't connect to the Xbox...

I've tried syncing it by pressing the little button on the console followed by holding in the button on the controller for 3 seconds then releasing it, but it just won't connect. I've changed the batteries 4 times too. I've gone so far as to disable my Wifi network and moving the cordless phone in case of interference...nothing.

Any ideas? This is pretty annoying!
 
If its new and you got your X360 invoice take it back and try to sync with another console or swap it out.
 
Yeah the four lights on the controller just flash over and over.

I press the button on the console so that each light lights up one after the other, indicating that it is trying to sync. I then hold in the white button on the controller for a few seconds until it does the same thing. Eventually the console's lights return to normal and the controller's four lights start flashing again.

I guess I'll have to take it back...only bought it the Friday before last. A bit of a drive but yeah it has to be done. Pity there's no fix for it.
 
1. Put Xbox 360 on. (but not the controller - keep it off).
2. Press the white sync button on the console and immediately after turn on your wireless controller by holding down the guide button (the big grey xbox button) .

See if that works. I too battled to get my controller to work initially, but once it synced, I've never had a problem.

Erm, I want to buy an Xbox but since you mentioned that you experiencing problems, I'm now a bit Skeptical.

Is it even worth buying this console?
 
@ Rome: don't be put off by silly little things like this. The Xbox 360 is a great console worth owning.

LOL, he's having problems with the controller, it's like maybe 1 in a 1000.

It's DEFINITELY worth buying this console, especially for Live.
 
Yeah controller problems I've never even heard of before so I don't think it's much to get worried about. But yeah I've tried that lord_spaceman. Going to get a replacement later today hopefully. I am longing to play haha.
 
Bummer Lyndon, hopefully catch you on Live in the next day or so.

@Rome - this is by no means systemic, as feo said, I think this is the first sync issue I've spoken about to anyone.

If you're thinking about getting one, do it, you won't regret it.
 
Game made me exchange my entire console because the controller wasn't working lol but anyway everything is working fine now and Live is once again being enjoyed by me.
