Where in South Africa can I pre-order the Xbox 360, so i can get it atleast before Xmas?

you can preorder through american online stores now, unfortuntly we don't have many US import video game stores but I think that one chain level 10 will have then a week after release, which means they should have xbox 360s (the US ones) in November
 
Which sites can i pre-oder it, i cant find any sites that ship it to south africa, could you post a reply telling me where or a pm, Please i really want to get this...
 
Animeworx dont have a date for a pre-order. BT Games will stock and sell Xbox 360's in Q2 2006 only.

Seeing that EB has sold out on pre-orders it might be a rare commodity in SA in 2005. I think i will wait for 2006 though and by then the game base should be vastly superior to the launch titles.
 
Hold onto your hat...it's likely that we will have an official za release of the Xbox360

... when asked, Steve Balmer, CEO of Microsoft, (speaking at the IT Professional and Developer conference in Midrand) confirmed that we will see the Xbox360 officially supported in SA within the next 12 months, but not before Xmas.

If you want to pre-order internationally, I suggest you get a Paypal account, and hang out at ebay where there's guaranteed to be a flood of activity when the 360 is released in the USA.

If you want to order from South Africa, then I suggest you get in contact with Wayne at Subterrania, a specialist gaming store in Cape Town who import anything (they did the original Xbox and PSP, and will definitely be getting the 360). You will need to be prepared to pay a premium though.
 
Hmm.. don't hold your breath for a ZA release.

Microsoft SA maintained for quite a while that they would release the first XBox here. It never happened.

Official MS confirmation of a local za release, but no date.

"Unfortunately I cannot yet say when it will be available in South Africa, as we're still investigating the market," said Cindy White, home and entertainment group manager for Microsoft SA. "All I can say at this stage is that the Xbox 360 is definitely coming to South Africa."

It's not far off from what the PS2's price was here initially. I remember a figure of about R4K ?
 
Yes and if you take in to account the PSP goes for about R2500 it does not sound so bad. I could never wait for the PS3 so I will most probably try and buy one locally or have it imported.

Did you see what the current pricing looks like for the X360's games? R700:eek:
This is why piracy will always be rife no matter what. I am sorry I will not pay R500 for a ps2 game let alone R700.
 
That sounds right. I remember some guy at my old work complaining about still paying his off when they dropped the price to ~R2000 :p

EDIT: PSP R2500 . 2GB Memory stick to use the PSP's functionality that was intended R2700.

Go figure.

PS2 Games pricing - one word: Ster-Kinekor.

Hopefully M$ will be reasonable with their pricing although this hasn't happened in the past [I remember buying RoN for R500 bux]:rolleyes:
 
Yeah Ster Kinekor can suck my *****.
I mean who in their right mind that has a family, car payments and a house bond to pay can afford to buy these overpriced games for their nagging children?

The only option is to:
A>Rent the game for R30 or
B>Chip your console

I am glad they are suffering now in the sales of movie tickets.
