Although with the play and charge kit it can double up as a gamepad for yur pc![]()
Well, you need to buy more every time they run flat. In the long run it'll work out much more cost-effective using rechargables.
Couldn't get the D-Pad to work in Trackmania and I don't drive with the Analog stickdidn't you know? You can use Xbox 360 controllers on Windows, without issue. In fact part of the Games for Windows initiative is support for the control scheme. You can used the wired pad, P&C or you get a wireless dongle you can use for the pad, wheel and wireless headset.

Yip, but every other gamepad I've had allowed me to use its "analog off/on" or mode (Logitech) button to switch between stick and dpadThe analog stick is considered the primary compnent for direction thats why ! if you look at the controller settings in control panel the dpad shows up as the point of view hat switch !
You'll still need the wireless reciever for the pc to detect and sync with the gamepad !
Ummm, not really.
Cause if you had to, you know, plug one end of the P&C kit into your control then take the other end (the one with a USB connection) and plug it into a free USB slot on your pc (if you don't have a free one try find one you can free up for this test) Then plug it into the free port. Now look at your pc screen, you should see a little balloon pop up from your task bar (there by the time) and it will say something about new hardware found. Let it install drivers and voilà, the little balloon will say "Xbox 360 wireless controller connected via a play and charge kit" Then the Balloon will go away and a new one will come up, it will say "Your new hardware is installed and ready to use".
Congrats you now have a working 360 gamepad....
nub![]()
Dohc, have you downloaded and installed the 360 "Common Controller" driver?
I used a wired controller on the PC and had the same thing, so I was just wondering.
Im am currently using my controller on my pc and u must have the wireless reciever for it 2 work (unless ur using a miracle wireless one) ! just plugging it in with a play and charge kit will detect ur controller as an unknown USB Device !
And the pc dont even pick up the play and charge kit natively all it will say is found new hardware and it will pick it up as a usb (generic) device and nothing else !
Since you are so smart (the wireless controller requires syncing to work on the pc otherwise everytime u power it the xbox will go on so i wonder how are u able to sync it to a pc without a wireless reciever.)
