xbox hanging when signing into XBL

ok so i need some help or suggestions. since right now my 360 elite freezes when signing into live.
the first pop up comes and goes, stating 'currently signing in to live' or something similar, then the second popup comes up saying "signed in to xbox live" and the whole system just hangs - ie not responsive to any electronic input via controller. this is the first time this happened.

goddamnit and i want to play castle crashers NOW! :mad: :D

any ideas or suggestions?

i tried switching the machine off and on again x3 tries. deja vu again and again.

DISCLAIMER: any suggestions WRT rather getting a ps3 will result in serious physical harm inflicted upon you with said ps3/bluray-waffle-maker. this is not a fanboi thread thank you very much.

Cant help, dont have a 360 anymore

Do you want to buy Castle Crashers or play it?

got castle crashers (full version). been playing it. xbox worked last night, not today. the machine hangs when it connects to live.
 
Can you not play it when you are not signed in?

Sorry to here about XBL problems. Hope you get it working soon
 
nope it works perfectly when i dont sign in. it kinda borthers me that i need to disconnect the xbox from the router to be able to play on the xbox.
 
Hi

I experienced it hanging a couple of days ago.
It is the screen where the "console" loads with the light moving in circle around it, right?
It seems to sort itself out after a while.
 
look at all the people complaining about the internet being scewy the past few days .... that's obviously the reason.
 
and it could just be due to it's massive popularity that the servers can't keep up :D

it is STILL doing it.

everytime just as i log into XBL the damn system just hangs, even if i switch everything off and then on again. this is no RROD, since the xbox works perfectly when i disconnect it from the router. i also definately did not change any settings anywhere since last night (when it all worked perfectly).
 
have you phoned your ISP to see if there's a problem on their side or is the interwebz normal on your PC?
 
internet is normal - am using it now as i type. this is frustrating beyond belief.
 
and any of the xbox forums to see if you're the only one? if that's a bust, then I dunno, something musta happened ......... all your ports still the same and whatnot? maybe telscum did an exchange reset or something and you need to redo ports? I'm just grasping at straws here :o:D
 
thanks i'm gonna try looking on the xbox forums. i kinda feel like smashing things, but i'll try and keep cool. :)

assassins creed + not getting your timing right with attacks, once lead to the wireless controller (may it rest in pieces) slipping out of my hand, repeatedly into the floor. :D
R600 for a new controller + rechargeable battery pack taught me a valuable lesson: punch the wall - skin & bones heal, controllers dont. :o
