Xbox live latency...

Especially when playing games where your reaction time needs to be really good the latency gets to me. i.e. Gears Of War, FIFA.

By the time you actually see your opponent he has ended up taking you out on his end.

Wonder how other South African players find the latency and deal with this on Xbox live.

FIFA just seems so demanding on bandwidth...

Another question: If you host then surely the game should play smoothly on your end?
Provided that you have a connection sufficiently quick. i.e. 4MBps (I need to upgrade my ADSL)

we have a whole lot of players playing without any problems at all.

If you are on 4mb you can host local games up to 12 players with no lag at all.

if you play with 3g iburst, you have a small lag in gears you get a few
less kills in close shotgun battles but overall very good, just play with local players,
even games like dead or alive which is heavy dependend on no lag can be played on adsl without problems at all.

Provided you're playing against locals, lag on ADSL is usually a non issue (except GoW host shotgun )

If you're playing internationals, the only twitch games I can recommend are Bad Company and Halo.

Im definitely going to check out xbox-360.co.za. I would just like to host and get even on those who made the most out of the lag I was experiencing.

I notice Rainbow 6 Vegas 2 seems to respond rather well.

gta4 plays quite nicely locally and internationally with adsl
