Xbox Live - Line Speed

Well wanted to enquire since live is coming to s.a and what not, iv ordered a 512 line from telkom, mainly I'm asking will this be enough for me to play decent ? and has anyone got a 512 who is playing on live atm

Yip, will be more than enough...i use about 100 megs an hour with 12 player games...
You need 4MB to host games though...

Thanks man.....eish really hope its gonna go smoothly if I get a mweb acc.....gonna make sure iv got a perfect firewall lol so no other data other than live will be passed to max the line

I play on Live with a 512, unshaped account though. It's more than enough, but as stated earlier, for hosting you'd need a bit more oomf.

Thanks prOd don't think ill host, no need for me too.....do u think that the mweb will be fine ??? Iv got another source of files so the account won't be used for downloads, just hoping mweb will suffice

I have no experience with Mweb, so I cant really help you there. But as long as local pings are low'ish (for multiplayer games), then you should be golden.

I used to have a 384k line with MWEB which worked with Xbox LIVE. International games arent so good. Local games feel just as good as unshaped though. Using a 4mb line now with MWEB, the only difference is I can host games. Like I said. MWEB works beautifully for Xbox LIVE if games are local. International... not so nice.

I would love it if they could make our pings nice and fast for international games...

Tegnik...hoping that xbox live south africa will change that as we can get local games easier and have a faster link between other international servers hoping tho
