Anyone tried xbox live sharing on their xbox one. My buddy and I tried it and we both got to download each others games and play them for free :)

YES

Two users, two consoles

So a single console with multiple users is pretty straightforward. But with multiple consoles, things get a bit more hairy.

For starters, you need to deal with an Xbox One feature called "home Xbox," where each user that is signed in to an Xbox One must have one console that is configured as their home Xbox. (If you only have one Xbox One, then that will be the home Xbox for all configured users.) When you configure a console as your home Xbox, any user that signs in to that Xbox One can play any of your downloaded games without having to first sign in as you.

Read that one again, because it's important: When you configure a console as your home Xbox, any user that signs in to that Xbox One can play any of your downloaded games without having to first sign in as you.

That means that the converse is also true: On a non-home Xbox One, users will need to sign-in as you before they can play any of your downloaded games.

If this isn't your home Xbox, others will need to sign in as you to play your games

So here's the trick, assuming you have two Xbox Ones: Configure the Xbox One you don't usually use as your home Xbox. The other player will be able to play your games automatically and you will be able to play their games automatically, each on your own console.

It's that simple.

To make it work, user one signs in to console two with their Microsoft account/Gamertag credentials and configures that console as their home Xbox in Settings, My Home Xbox. User two, meanwhile, will sign in to console one with their Microsoft account/Gamertag and configure that console as their home Xbox.

The Your Home Xbox interface

Once this has happened, any user on either of the consoles can download and install the other user's games. They appear at the end of the Games & Apps list with little cloud icons on their tiles.

the downside..is that you are trusting people with your info

Awesome to hear it's being used. Add me with my gamer tag : MacQuince

I think the downside is access to your account by others. PS4 has something similar as well where you can sign in into another console and download your digital titles but only the primary PS4 does not require a sign in to play

You only have to sign in once and set the home console. I have subsequently deleted my friends account from my console(had to format) and still have access to the games that he buys and he has access to the games that I buy.

Ok so how would it work if we started a group on MyBB and all added each other to share games?

It wouldnt, Essentially it works best between two people with two consoles where each setup their friends XBOX as their home XBOX

This allows you to access your friends Games without requiring Authentications but since you are logged in your games willl work because it authenticates your account so you can access your library of games because you are logged in and your friends library of games because he set your XBOX as his home XBOX...

Essentially if 10 people all logged into the same console for as long as everyone was logged into that console you will all be able to play each others games...

Problem is that if you are logged into anothers console you are taking the risk because your account is open to them so Like myself I am only doing it with my one friend and will log into consoles of friends I trust wont even do something on my account even if they are upset with me...

So While this is possible nobody will gladly give you access to their account on your console unless they actually know you and trust you unless he is totally care free and an idiot...

ON Another Note:

What a friend and myself also discovered is that if you purchase digitally, or Physically your friend can download the game, You can take an XBOX formatted External Drive copy the game from him (After he updated it of Course) copy it to your console, when you launch it, it will "Install" and Authenticate that you Own it and you can play...

so like my friend and I when we got the XBOX ONE between us we had 20 games that needed downloading so i downloaded half and he did the other half and then we just copied it across between each other problem solved...

We should really start a Thread of all the things we Discovered On how to get things easier on the console...

I also need More Friends in the XBOX Community ADD ME TOO @XenitXTD

It only works with 2 accounts and 2 consoles.
e.g.
1. I sign into my console with your details and set the console as your home console.
2. You then sign into your console with my details and set your console as my home console.
3. Both then sign out and sign into their consoles with the own details.
4. You will then have access to games that I buy\bought and I have access to games that you buy\bought on your account.

This apparently works quite well with Xbox One game download codes (although I haven't tried it myself). You sign into the account of a friend on your console, and then redeem and download the game. It'll be tied to your friend's account, as well as your console, and you don't need to share account details after that. But there isn't much of a variety when it comes to Xbox One game download codes, so it's limited.

Thanks for the explanation bud

Why not just buy the game from the online store? Works the same way?

What is the risk of your account being compromised? I quite like this licensing method, in the old days you'd have one console with two controllers connected, now two people can enjoy the game in different locations. I hope they don't clamp down on it.

About My home Xbox

Overview

When you designate a specific Xbox One as your home console, people can play your downloaded games without having to sign in.

We recommend that you designate the most frequently used console as your home Xbox.

Designate an Xbox One console as your home Xbox

Note You can designate only one console as your home Xbox.

Follow these steps:

Say “Xbox, go to settings”, or choose Settings from My games & apps.
Select My Xbox from the left side of the screen.
Select My home Xbox.
Review the information, and then do one of the following:
Select Make this my home Xbox to designate the console as your home Xbox.
Select This is not my home Xbox to remove the designation.

Can I change my home Xbox console to a different console?

You can change which console is your home Xbox up to three times during a one-year period. When you change home consoles, all device licences for digital content will move to your new home Xbox. These device licences will no longer be available on your old “home” Xbox.
