XBOX live - so slow

Does anyone else have the problem of xbox live downloading so slow? im trying to download demo's and that.. and its taken like 10 hours to get 50% on 800 megs, and i have a 4 meg line ?

what is wrong, is it just slow, or slow to SA or what ?

Checked all your settings? - Correct?
Port forwarding - Correct?
NAT?
uPnP?

Just shooting here..

well i make it connect through a shared internet connection on the pc... and the PC's internet works hundreds

Are you you using some hacked firmware? Ms have ways of dealing with that.

Nothing to do with firmware.

You'll have to look at the configuration settings more closely dude!

I have also noticed that,when running your xbox through a shared connection on a pc/laptop is significantly slower than directly through a dsl router,try running it directly.

Ive also tried connecting through my router (connects no prob) and have a 4mb line but is also still painfully slow.

Havnt tried messing with port fowarding settings etc though so cant say if that helps...

Was wondering if shaped/unshaped made a big difference tho? anyone know if it does?

p.s ive never done an international speed test and got more than maybe 40kB/s single thread so i wouldnt expect it go faster than that... would also like to know if unshaped changes that?

I'd just like to say I was having the same issue when I connected for a bit, my downloads crawled. Hopefully if maestro manages to sort out my machine, I'll have a closer look when it arrives back. I didn't attempt any gaming on Live though, so I can't say what the speeds were there. I've also heard many overseas reports with these issues.

Like I said, I'll do a diagnosis asap and see what it comes up with.
