Xbox one is two years old, the lad is on controller no.4 . At a grand a pop it's becoming quite expensive to replace.
I sent the three damaged one's to a repair dude down in the Cape of Good Hope and he can only get one back to working condition.

WTF do I do with two non functional controllers, this is ridiculous that they do not last long....

Is there a way I can get the suppliers(Takealot and Loot) to take them back?
Is there an insurance company that has a product to cover these items?
Should I have bought a PS rather?
Can I bulk import the controllers from China for lank cheap?

I thank you....

How long ago did you buy the controllers? You might be able to take them back under warranty.
Something is very wrong if you are on the 4th controller now, mine has taken a few knocks in the 8 months I have had it and it is still 100%

Same here, console came with 2 controllers, 2nd one not even taken out of its box yet..

Hardhandige bliksem . I was gonna recommend a Scuf Impact but apparently they don't make them for Xbox so anything similar anybody can recommend will work.

Easiest solution. If the kid breaks it, he needs to buy a new one with his own money.

My lad is perfect....... :X3:

No anger issues, but on interrogating him it would seem that some of his mates that visit are prone to dropping controllers...

I shall buy one more controller, thereafter it's wired one's all the way...

So it just so happens that all the controllers break at the transmitter/receiver?

3 controllers and only my third which was dropped has a loose cover otherwise no problems over 5 years.
The old dual shock 3s on the other hand man, those things always broke.

I think your problem is the lad...not the controllers.

I have three in my house and not a single issue with any of them.

Out of all my friends with Xboxes (and I have many) I know of only one who had an outright failure.

Outside of that the typical wear and tear of analog sticks is pretty normal.

The Playstation controllers are far less robust, I can tell you that much having worked on all of them.

What exactly is the problem?

Remember the original Sixaxis? They were so nice and light but didn't have the rumble functionality which was a bit of a let down due to a lawsuit that Sony had on their hands

All have the same issue of not powering up.....
Been through all the suggestions online, new batteries, Use USB connect cable, even took them apart to look for breakage......
I had that problem with the XBox 360 control. It only works when I use the cable and connect it straight into the PC or Shield.
