Xbox One Setup Help needed pleaseeeeeeee!

Hi,

I some or a lot of tech assistance and would highly appreciate some feedback :erm:...

I just recently bought an Xbox One, the plan was then to swop for PS4 as I found it more user friendly for us techno challenged guyz. I decided however to keep it as I've been told its an awesome console. My problem now is that I've picked up last night that I actually need internet connection in order to do the setup and there after I'll be able to enjoy offline gaming without internet connection.

I get two options after switching on the system:

*Add wireless network
*connect to network (or something like this)

I do not have internet connection at home. Did some research and came across the "One day Patch" thingy. Considering trying it out as soon as I find out where I can download it, then upload to my console.

There was also a suggestion claiming I could always take the console to a friends house with internet access then do set up there....

Another one was that I use my phones as a wifi hotspot. (which I don't know how to do either:wtf:)

Please someone help.
 
You need internet for the first time setup. You can go offline after that.

Best to take it to your friends house to set it up there :)

Simple if you have an Android phone. Go to Data Settings where you'll find tethering and hotspots options. I heard those Xbone patches are huge so you better watch out for the OOBshark.
 
Yeah you need to do the initial update the first time and after that you are good to go without internet. When I did mine it was roughly 550-600mb (might be more or less now) download.
 
500-600mb update required. Will be done in an hour over 2mb ADSL. After that it's plain sailing :)

You may want to invest in getting ADSL if you want to take advantage of the areas where the Xbox One shines ie. multiplayer, apps, Games with Gold, EA Access and monthly sales :)
 
You are going to have a hard time enjoying a next gen console without internet, trust me...

aaaahhhh yes I was actually salivating at the possibilities of having access to the above...will most def do so

Hey Gents!

Sorted my Xbox....Setup done at internet cafe and im ready to dig in! :D

Thanx for all the help offered! ;)

Next step...to get my internet connection setup for online gaming. :whistle:
