I kind of accepted Halo split screen being so choppy as modern game just pushing too hard.

But Gears is running flawlessly while looking amazing, so now I’m thinking Halo just didn’t try hard enough.
 
May be the 'draw' and ,marketing it allows of/ for Gamepass is where MS sees the value.

The service must be loaded and attractive.

Yeah no, not gonna happen. Youtube re DEI is damaging that part good and proper. People that already have a Console/Gamepass will give it a try, but I dont see anyone seeing the outrage and go, "Yeah I wanna buy a console to play that".

Outrage?

The game is fantastic so far, so much more verticality that I actually forget it's possible and run around like a knob instead.

Button mapping changes also confusing the kak out my muscle memory, but we are getting there.

I'm still astounded at how well it runs in split screen.

Been playing campaign with my cuz. Every time the noob holds us up taking in scenery., then claim he is looking for collectibles'
Told him you tend to find more collectibles by doing more than 360 degree turns.
I can't think of a better looking game on my console.

1st thing I changed, put the reload icon back to to right hand corner. It's what threw me most.

PS: R U on a projector? Thought I saw a post while back where you were considering.
Ultra short throws are looking delicious.

You can change the active reload ammo thingy to the top right in the settings. I think it is under interface.

I clearly hang out with normal reasonable people because I’ve missed all of this.

Also none of this is even new…I mean the technical director is trans and has been in charge since Gears 4 and deeply involved before that as well I’m sure and there have been butch girls in this game since forever.

We truly are ****ed as a society if this is what’s keeping people awake at night.

Microsoft is actively asking Xbox users with multiple consoles how they'd react if big franchises went fully console exclusive. Is this a hint at things to come?

It asks users to consider the hypothetical scenario, offering multiple choice responses below it.

"Imagine it was announced that all future title releases from every XBOX-developed gaming franchise except Call of Duty will be console-exclusive to XBOX," the final survey question reads. "For Minecraft only, existing titles would no longer be available for purchase on PlayStation or Nintendo consoles, and would not receive any new content updates. However, there is no impact to any of the existing titles or content you already own. Nothing changes on PC in this announcement."

It asks users if they would move to an existing Xbox console they already own, buy a new one, switch to PC, or skip it entirely in this scenario.

This is not a new survey. I have no idea why it is making the news now, but I shared it in some thread. It is XBOX Research related, and this also happens to be the most demanding drive on XBOX Player Voice. This was also exclusively sent to XBOX owners.

Do the console crowd want this, and will XBOX do this?

What I can say is that, should AMD be invested in convincing its gaming dGPU market to move to next-gen consoles, I won't be surprised that such a move was coordinated between AMD and MS/XBOX. The problem we consumers have is that we have no control over ML technologies. DRM, compiling, etc, could all be built into the ML stack. Also, why I am not convinced by XBOX Labs at this time. There is a chance that the next-gen gamer will be assimilated into a bespoke "SI" ecosystem.

Console peeps won't complain, I guess.
