So now I'm looking for a sports game and thinking of getting a golf one.

Which version is the most arcade-like? ---- ie, just play and don't have to spend too much time tinkering around.

Just been reading the boxes from TW 06, 07 and 08 and not interested in "advanced" tinkering ability features.

Any other recommended sports games?

Yes, I did do a search of the forum before asking...

The only sport game I really enjoy is Fifa08 or the new upcoming Fifa09. Great for when friends are over, get 4 wireless controllers, great fun.

Pity you dont have a PS3, then you could have opted for "Hot Shots Golf", easy enough for the casual gamer, but can get really challenging deeper into the game.
I would still recommend TW 09 though. You dont have to tinker as much as you think, and you can still play the game and have fun by just upgrading your gear every now and then. The swing and putting mechanics are easy enough, the challenge is when to use what club, wind speed and direction etc, but i really dont see it as a game that requires loads of fiddling around.
And 09 is def the version to get!

Here's the prices :https://www.take2.co.za/list.php?ty...ter=&country=&alpha=&platform=Xbox+360&order=

Is R543 for the 09 version worth it?

Not a bad price, but remember Take2 charges i think an additional R30 for shipping.
I think Kalahari has it for R518 and no shipping fee.

I had Tiger Woods 06 on PC back in the day - it was very good, even for a casual sports-gamer as myself. My dad (being an avid golfer) enjoyed the more "advanced" bits in the game though. I loved playing through the "campaign".
