Good morning you crazy lads, I am thinking of selling my Xbox 360 to create a good pc for my games more or less how many moolas do i need (not the best pc but one that will run BF4 with no problems

I think R7000 should be ok.
Check the evetech website for systems as well.

R7000 is a bit low if you include a monitor, hdd and Windows.

I'd work on around R9000 to be safe and to add a bit of future proofing.
That being said, R7000 will get you gaming on a decent system that should be able to play most current gen titles on High at max res.

A PC of course unless you plan on spending R15000 for an MSI or double that for an AlienWare

makes sens LOL thanks will sell my Xbox and get A PC and do not think im a sell out i still have my PS4! hahaha

Why would you think we care if you sell your console?
I strictly game on PC, my son can keep the Xbox.
Couldn't be cared about consoles for a single second.

You shouldn't have wasted your money on a PS4 either...thats just Ridic...

A year ago I got away with R11000 for a complete PC. This includes everything such as a case, speakers, headphones, monitor, mouse and even the mousepad. This PC plays BF4 on a mix of high/low(preference)/ultra at 60fps (most of the time) @ 1920x1980. This was all bought from takealot. Today you could probably get it for cheaper somewhere else. Just get a good 3rd gen i5 with a GPU equivalent or better than a HD7870. You can skimp on the MOBO and spend only around R700 easy. And 8GB of DDR3 is more than enough for modern gaming.

Ok nice I'm currently saving up R10000+- I want to build a decent gaming pc

Thanks but Im buying all parts online so might even get it cheaper

11 - 14 k if you want a full set without leaving anything out.

The last one I did was 12.5k. No speakers though, thanks to the CPU and Storage :/

CPU is not important in modern gaming. The cores are, however. A 5 year old quad core would run BF4 with single digits less (that's framerate for you non gamers) than the fastest i7.

So... Why has it been so hard for people to develop emulators for the consoles of today?

Gave up PC gaming for console about 2 years ago. Enjoying just bringing a new game home, slotting it in and playing. No fiddle with this setting or that driver or... Not to mention the need to regularly upgrade hardware to remain constant.
Also can't imagine having to sit at a desk again to play games. Way prefer vegging in my cinema seats and jamming on a 120" screen.

Played CoD a few times on PC just for a change from console but stopped shortly after getting annoyed at the multitude of keyboard buttons you have to use (and sitting at a desk).

Did however use the XBox controller to play BF3 on PC. Sitting at a desk annoyed me though so gave it up again.

My son prefers PC to XBox though.

My next project will be a gaming PC wired up in my game room, hooked up to the projector, running Steam OS and controlled with an XBox controller. Then I will get back into PC again. As long as I can get rid of the keyboard, mouse and desk I reckon all should be good.

Why not just have your pc in your living room and building it into a HTPC case?

Constant upgrading also means that you buying mid level products.

I also have a wireless keyboard and mouse that last 3 - 4 days up until the next charge... Not really a problem.

As for the desk, I had a little lap desk built for me, it fits perfectly on my couch.
