I noticed the other day set to some arb date in 2005 and reset it to the current date.

I turn it on today and BAM - seems to default to 2005. I'm not if its when there are power failures or what - but it won't hold time :(

I assume it has one of those watch back up batterys? Could this *really* be dead on my HDMI Xbox360 with under 50hrs game play?

If so - who replaces these things & how?

I don't think theres a battery in there...mine does the same if the power drops out it loses the plot and returns to 2005

Yup, its doesn't retain time if you pull out the power cable... So no battery, I'm afraid.

The funny thing is even hdmi models manufactured in 2007 goes back to 2005 when the power is pulled

Damn how dumb ... VCRs from 15 years ago did this :/

Thanks though

If & when you connect to LIVE, it does at least automatically reset the time... but still a glorious pain in the ass.

Just do what I do - blame Eishkom :D

Wow, wonder how much MS saved with that one.
Seems they wil ldo anything to shave off a few pennies on development costs.

Oh come on, Sony only charges R800 for the extra battery. Thats not a lot extra (by Sony standards) :D

:eek: R800 !!! ...... daaaaaaaaaamn :rolleyes::D

Who knows where Sony get their prices from. All I know is they are always excessive. Except for Bluray, but I think they're trying to compensate for the beating they're taking over that loss.

Once again Sony's financial results are far from positive.
