xbox360 crashes!

i bought an xbox today. YAY!

but was a bit disappointed when i first used it cuz after 10 minutes the freaking thing crashed. reset and another couple minutes the thing crashed.

phoned a friend who owns one asked him if his crashes and he says nope. (this is on the same game)

anyway after reading a bit online i tried the advice of not putting it in a cupboard and now it seems fine...

Just want to know if anyone else has experienced this?

Anyway... great console and a great purchase... laughed my ass off when i saw the price of the PS3...
 
Welcome to the ranks dude.

While mine's never crashed, I believe that crashes are a fairly common occurance with 360's.

well since i have moved it to a well ventilated area it is purring along... so yeah... rule no1 dont put it in a confined space, it ain't like that. I will be honest i have never owned a console machine and the xbox is the first for me.

very impressed with the graphics and general quality. One thing that bigs me is the loudness of the fans, but once you have a game on that becomes something that is forgotten.

i decided to get the premium system as i couldn't be assed to get memory sticks ect.

wireless controllers are awesome... and tomoro will get some extra games. At the moment i have been battling it out on dead or alive 4 which is a cool game.

any suggestions for a new game. I have my eye on Gears of War or Ghost Recon.
 
GOW and Rainbow 6 Las Vegas are my two favourites so far. Call of Duty 3 and Fear would be my runners-up.
 
Would anyone in JHB be interested in setting up a "games club" where we can borrow each other's games? I'm done with GoW, Fight Night and Oblivion for now...

Sounds like a plan even though I have no idea how you are finished with GOW :)

Any plans on how it would work?
 
We set up a little site, or a thread on the forum to keep track of things, and then people swap games with each other. Maybe do it like a library, so that a game swap period is like 2 weeks, with an option to renew.

WRT being done with GoW, I've realised that I'm not really a big fan of multiplayer FPS. So I finished gears in the single player mode, and that's it. I also find it boring re-playing the same game on a harder difficulty.

I go thru games pretty quick... Crackdown lasted 3 days :/

Actually GSOD - it was green on the original XBox :p

Don't think lightly of the PS3 either it's apparently even louder than the 360 when it starts running hot, and also need LOTS of air.



As far as games go, if you want a shooter, you must have Gears of War. Don't just take my word for it, it's won nearly every award possible, and is just awesome.
 
Shame only Xbox will crash
Guess that what happens when you go for the cheap machine.

Well as they said PS3 are for people who want quality an not XP in a box.

The PS3 NEVER crashes.
But the Xbox apparently does.

Actually the nice thing about the xbox is, most people who bought the console could have saved that 4k for an extra few months and also bought a PS3.

But most people did their research about the xbox and saw theres not really that big difference between the consoles to justify the price. Doing that little bit of research on the console says a lot about the mentallity of a lot of xbox users :cool:
