thanks for that link - I tried to change to disc and back and restore everything, it sadly didnt help.
sigh = I'll call M$ in de morning and see what they have to say

If it's under warranty, the "repair" lasts for 3 months. If it's out of warranty and you pay for a repair, you get a new 1 year warranty.
So if your console shows problems near the end of the initial 1 year warranty it could be better to wait until the day after your warranty expires and pay the fee.
90 days is standard, but it would typically only apply to repairs carried out for a fee outside of your original warranty period, otherwise you still get the balance of your 12 month warranty. Microsoft actually goes 9 months better than the standard if you've paid for the warranty repair (i.e. if you pay now you're getting a 1 year warranty).

just thought i'd [-]brag[/-] share that i finally got me a replacement xbox360, and it has hdmi 
and its much quieter than my old dead one
so all in all, it was R684 well spent (lost the slip) (i mean hey, GTAIV is more expensive than that)

I just might get the inclination to do that....then again, they did make me sweat it out and wait and told me all sorts of fairy tales...

Meh... xbox... Rubbish! I was thinking of getting one, but when the Wii was released I opted for that. All I need a console for is to have fun with people - hardcore games I'll keep on the PC (hopefully GTA will come out on the PC!)
The only reason I'd buy a PS3 is because I like the gamepad.... but my logi-rumble-tech jobby is doing fine for windows sports games. meh... as i said!

Have you tried the Xbox's controller? The PS3 gamepad is a reason why I wouldn't buy the PS3.

nah, dude, now you just being silly.
With all its faults, the xbox 360 beats pc gaming hands down.
You would have to spend 12k odd on your pc and then probably more and you still won't get the same performance as a R3000 or even the R2000 xbox 360.
Re the controller - the xbox is brilliant.
As I said, it has it faults, but it also has its merits - it is probably the best game console of the current 3.
The only reason I would get a PS3 is if I get a HD TV and blu ray becomes the next standard - as the PS3 is currently the same price as a blu ray dvd player.

my mate got an xbox 360 when it just came out - we wanted to have less hassles with pes at the time (cant rightly remember which one it was). the controllers were horrible. needless to say - it was gone within a week.
as far as the ps3 joypad not having rumble - i could care less, but now they have and thats that! i say its the only compelling reason to buy a ps3 because i'm personally more comfortable with it and prefer it to the xbox's - they have basically the same games (really, dont go on about halo/gow i dont like them on consoles and before you flame - i tried my utmost)
spending 12-18k isnt too much of a problem if you really want to have the best graphics and the best method of playing games. ever since pes came out on the pc, i have given up on consoles. still - the wii version does rock and i could go that route... (and all you graphics n performance junkies lay off - not interested in hearing about how its underpowered, no dvd playback etc... i am able to read and know all these things already)

We heard you all of a dozen times you don't like FPS. What is obvious regardless is that your mind is made up and you're not really open to new experiences, By the looks of things you just here to justify your opinion to yourself. Nobody can decide "a console is rubbish" after "his mate" played one game for a week. Yeaaah. 20 million ecstatically happy gamers disagree with you.
But we get it, you want PES. and well PES. And when you feel like something a bit different you'll probably try a bit of PES, but you'll be adventurous and try a different team. There is no PES for Noobs, PES lite or Super PES on consoles because it seems that's what you're after.
My answer to you then is simply, go back to your PC and play some more PES. The good news is there'll be a new one this year! Just like last year.
