What sensationalist rubbish. While everyone knows I am one of the first to jump on the bandwagon of pessimism ( :p ), this is just rubbish.

Immigrant leaders in South Africa said on Monday that thousands of foreigners frustrated at miserable living conditions were on the point of retaliating against a wave of xenophobic attacks.

Tens of thousands of immigrants have been forced to take refuge at temporary shelters around the country after mobs began attacking migrants three weeks ago, killing at least 62 people.

"The tension is there, already, for a war," Deo Kabemba Bin Ngulu, a leader from the Democratic Republic of Congo, told reporters.

A war? Puh-lease. At best a roaring mob of a few thousand people. Nothing even our disease ridden and untrained police and army cannot squash in a few hours.

/rant done.

If they were going to retaliate they would have done so by now...............

These people were born victims and will die victims.............just look at the countries they all came from............they couldn't stand up to their own people, and they gonna stand up to ours ?

Oh please, illegal immigrants vs SANDF?
*** as our army is no illegal immigrant will harm the army!
And as you say Stealth, he is from the DRC.

What concerns me is not the thought of the "war", but what this will do to SA's already battered image.

Even if it is stopped quickly, imagine the world press after this "retaliation"?

I am assuming you are referring to Trevor Manuel and Tito Mboweni. Can you elaborate as to what exactly they did to contribute to your BS perceptions of our country?

Ja, I was also wondering that... if anything they have done a pretty good job of keeping this country economically viable.

lol, Yeah deep dark africa is known for its great education and Further learning possibilities....... :p
Its actually FET (Further Education and Training). Thats what we use here in SA! :D
And what did Manuel and Mboweni do to damage SA? They are some of the few good guys left in government! Unless of course you're one of the corrupt ones who want the good guys out...

Refugees ban black cops

Refugees at the Blue Waters safety site in Strandfontein shut out provincial and city authorities, refused aid and apparently threatened to burn down the camp if UN representatives were not brought in to speak to them on Monday.

The 166 refugees at the camp, including children, have since gone on a hunger strike and are now refusing to deal with any South African authorities after being "ignored" for the past 10 days.

And they have banned all black policemen from entering the site after an officer allegedly waved a firearm in front of a mother and her baby on Monday morning.

The incident angered the refugees and prompted them to cordon off the safety site with sandbags, bins and tyres - banning anyone from coming in and demanding the presence of the UN.

The foreigners would get their @ss handed to them in such a conflict....unless they have some AKs hidden in those camps that nobody knows about.

Whats up with Africans and burning stuff down. Just like the muppets burning down a school to protest against the lack of schools. wtf...:(
