Do a search on gumtree and see how much the general price is. The G4 also comes with Android bootloops so price will not be high.

The bootloop got solved when they replaced the motherboard right in the beginning when I got the phone. Since then no bootloops. Just the sticky down button. Ill check out gumtree

Cash converters and cash crusaders if you want the money quickly but if you can wait then sell on gumtree maybe for R3500 because of the button.
 
Bought A1 for my wife and she's very happy with it, have to say for the money it's a nice phone.

Please can you give me some real world feedback on video's audio quality - is it as compressed and tinny as gsmarena's samples (as in video captured by the phone in 4k or 1080p)? I want to order one but this is bothering me.

Will take take some during the week and let you know. Friend got me one when he was in India, paid R5000 incl 3 covers and some glass screen guards.
 
Also pulled the trigger for a black A1 for me and a Rosegold for the wifey. Bought via Geekbuying and they only ship on Friday (20/10/2017). I set my limits for R / $ < R13.30 and a price of below $230 - lo and behold, Friday evening the Rand clocked in at R13.26 to the US$ and Geekbuying had the phone for $228.

Now the wait begins
 
Who delivers faster and is more trsutworthy - geekbuying or gearbest?

If the phone was exactly the same from both stores - which is better to pull the trigger at?
 
I wonder if the MI A1 will be one of the devices that Vodacom will be bringing in on their contracts from November. It will be schweet if we can start getting accessories for Xiaomi locally.

In the same boat. My G4 is in good condition just wear and tear. Already been fixed for the boot loop as well. I'm only using it again as my Note 3 was grabbed :(

Vodacom not bringing the phones, MIA Africa Will still be supplying Vodacom with the phones

Ja, I didn't say Vodacom was bringing the phones in themselves, they are bringing it into their lineup - which would mean that they are more accessible and therefore, hopefully better backed up in terms of accessories and maybe local repairs.

Nope, Xiaomi Mi a1 and I think some Motorola handset with similar specs are trying to revive the project. Google promised Oreo updates before year end, but they are running out of time.

The wait would kill me. How much would the courier option have been, as a matter of interest?
 
When I order stuff from Geekbuying I usually choice TNT. Never had to wait longer than 2 weeks from dispatch to door. And, because of where I live, deliveries are Tuesday or Thursday only.
