Just received update guys

That's the one. In all its "verison" glory.

Mine also gave a lot of problems over wi-fi . Luckily its right next to my router . I LAN'ed it with the ethernet adapter and since then havent had a single problem
The "Right next to the router" was the issue for me with Wifi ... it appears the Mi Box interferes BADLY with the Wifi signal from my Airport Express. I moved the Express further away, and now it is all shap

Did the OTA update last night , everything seems normal , cant comment on the wi-fi as mine still connected via ethernet

Hopefully this update fixes the wifi issue some of you guys have been having.

Hi guys just got a mi box and I'm having connectivity issues with my WiFi. Any ideas on how to solve this ?
Not sure if it makes a difference, but my router is 2.4 GHz only, and it works perfectly.
Edit: Seems like some guys are fine on 5 GHz too... What about changing the Wifi channel on your router?

I changed it from auto to 1 still didn't work. Yesterday I changed from 20/40mhz to 20 MHz and it worked for a while but stopped today. Also downloaded the new update still didn't work. Seems like I will have to try a wired connection.

A wired connection really took the experience up a level for me. Runs and responds like butter.

I'm now able to run Steam link and play all my controller friendly games. Very nice but took lots of tweaking to get it to perform as the app needs to be side loaded.

Hi Guys

Had my Xiaomi box for 2 weeks now, not had any OTA updates yet, public Oreo still halted? Device says up to date, on 6.0.1 still...

Also bought this https://www.takealot.com/orico...-ethernet-adapter/PLID49520645 ethernet adapter which is listed as a working adapter on this thread start page, usb ports work fine, but device not picking up an ethernet port, only still wifi? Maybe android OS related?

Thanks
Found my answers:

If you recently bought a Xiaomi box it would of been on Android 6.0.1 and no OTA for Oreo is available

Had to manually update to Oreo Build 2179, this then resulted into being OTA'd to build 2396 all running fine

The Orico Usb 3.0 3 port hub with gigabit ethernet from takelot doesn't work with the android 6.0.1 that the box shipped with. But works 100% with Android 8.0

Cheers!!

I’ve used that adapter since last year July with Android 6,7 and 8 with no issues at all.

My MiBox is also 2 weeks old and I got the OTA update of 630 meg to Oreo yesterday.

My LIT box also updated to Oreo

I also tried that adapter and it did not work on Andriod 6.0.1.

Bought this one and it works like a dream... but has no usb ports https://raru.co.za/electronics/5828800-ugreen-usb-3-0-to-gigabit-ethernet-cable-adapter-black

Is anyone else still getting the Audio delay problem where audio and video are slightly out of sync or know how to fix it. I get this in almost every app like DstvNow, Terrarium/TitaniumTV, Showbox? My fix is to reboot the Mibox which solves the issue temporarily but after an hour or so it starts again. In Titanium/Terrarium I'm able to change MxPlayer to use HW+ insead of HW which also does usually get the audio and video back in sync. Recently I have started getting a Audio not supported on certain streams when switching MxPlayer to use HW+ or SW so this is causing some problems for me.
I did a factory reset after the previous Oreo update but this has been a problem for me since it was on Android6, I haven't tried a reset again since doing the most recent update 2 nights ago.

This can be on a case by case basis, so YMMV, but for me, on those apps that allow it I make it a point Not to use MX Player. I know that it's a popular choice for many but MX Player on the Mi Box (no matter the setting) has given me issues from Day 1.
I either use VLC or the built-in player for that particular app.

Not sure what you can do with your issues with DSTV Now.

Mmm, I haven't checked if the Oreo update is available for me. Does it update automatically or did you guys manually check if there is an update available? I'm still on 6.01.
