Not sure on the model, but it's the one MWEB gave me.
Mibox doesn't respond well to 2.4ghz. slow or loss of connectivity. With a dual band it operates better on the 5ghz.

As for price, browse the net. Many varieties and prices.

Mine works 100% fine on 2.4ghz.
 
Anyone having an issue with the latest DStv app where when you're playing something, the screen stays dim? But browsing in the app is normal and bright. Streams are just really dim...

I reckon it got to do with the black magic that is getting your wifi to work correctly.
 
So although this a 4K box - it doesn't seem to do Netflix UHD?
Assuming you a new Smart TV - is there a point to these boxes?

Looking at the Samsung 50" MU7000 it has Showmax, DSTV Now, Netflix and Amazon Prime. Assuming you're not actually going to use Kodi, a TV like that makes this useless. Or am I missing something?

It does 4K Netflix.

That's the reason I still don't have a dedicated media player, my smart TV has all the apps I use, people buy them because they have non smart TVs or even projectors, they are also usually faster than even the top of the range smart TVs, then also of course your Apple stuff if you have an Apple TV or Google Play Movies for Android TV.

It's for my brother actually - he's got a dumb TV and deciding to go either this box with his old 1080, or a UHD Smart TV. I really do prefer the Smart TVs and as you say, it has what he wanted. Plus, I actually think the 2017+ Smart TVs *are quicker or the same.

But his cash, so we'll see.

One other thing I can't not have, I don't know if the modern Samsung's still have this, the motion controlled air mouse type pointer.

No, they don't any more.

I actually thought it kinda weird, as I kinda liked me old one

I remember when my tv came out, the H6400, CNET did a whole 3 minute video on just the remote, calling it the best TV remote they've ever used.

I would suck not having that anymore.
