To be honest, I thought the same - wanted to get a Mi5 and only then flash the Note3 - but then I reminded myself that I thought the same thing when I flashed my old Samsung to CM.Made sure my old phone was set to be a backup in case of total disaster - then went ahead..
Took me days of reading everything out there, looking for just the right ROM and proper instructions. Now, finding a ROM without problems and with clear & concise instructions was harder than expected, and I even went recklessly ahead to try something knowing full well it probably won't work.
Bricked my phone. Fixed it and learned a great deal in the process - real stoked now that everything is settled and working smoothly.
Oh turst me I know how to flash and stuff around, hell I been on Android since Nexus 1. The problem is not the flashing, its all the Autenticators and other app set-up that hinder me.
