Has anyone found a way to make an android device work off an ad hoc network from a XP laptop? Please help as I am getting to long in the tooth to keep up.

Simply put: NO and don't bother to look any further. Android does not support add-hoc wifi networks at a fundamental level. Therefore, there is no workaround. Copyright issues. All the other OS's do support add-hoc at different levels.

I recently tried creating an ad-hoc wireless network on Win7.
Didn't work as I could not scan/join the wireless network.

ICS (internet connection sharing) on the Win platform also
frustrates me. Never consistent...

Hi There,
If android does not support it and I had the same problem when I had an android phone then it is not going to work.
having it on Win 7 or 8 shold produce the same result.
It is not Windows but Android that needs to change.

Regards

Tim
