Ironically Apple is now the more evil corporation than MS, having several monopolies, tight control over its platforms, and a larger market cap. Anyhoo.

There really isnt any reason to use 32 bit anymore. None at all. Nothing that works in 32 bit is broken in 64 bit with the exception of two things:

16 bit apps dont work. If you can find one, let me know. Even Baldurs Gate I is 32 bit. I had to go back to Cyberstorm for Windows 95 to find something that was 16 bit. And even then, a VM solved my problem.

Kernel drivers need to be signed, no exceptions. Supposedly its a security thing, but its really more of a piracy thing because it helps the HDCP. Read up on it.

Other than that (and those two wont affect 99.9% of users), no reason not to use 64 bit, and some big gains such as maximum addressable memory. I've been using Vista 64 and now Win7 64 for nearly 4 years. No problems.
