Xperia Play - Super Cheap

I suspect that the whole Android drive with major processors and GPUs are an overkill by the manufacturers... I honestly think that the "crappy" gpu in the XPeria will be more than good enough for well written software

It's only crappy if you compare it to the iPhone4S's GPU, for an Android Device it's perfectly fine though you would expect a dedicated gaming device to have a better GPU than you everyday Android which this doesn't have.

@SCHUMI-4-EVA my exact response too, phone is good will handle android stuffz just fine, just saying for a dedicated "gaming" phone didnt live up to hype....

Sure some will argue that the specs are crap, if they compare it to devices out there but games is not all about specs.

Look at the Nintendo DS as an example. it was a much poorer device to the PSP yet it out sold the device by far, so much so that PSP can not catch up to it even with the many remakes.

What it does and the reason I want one for a dev phone is it gives the developers a baseline to work with. You know if a game performs on this device it will work on most phones out in the market.

and if you think the base is crap just go look at the titles over at www.gameloft.com/android-games/top/ They all used the Play as a base. Hell even Minecraft was build on a Play and was exclusive on the device before it went mainstream.

LOL, was 2K this morning... guess they noticed the mistake.

Yeah, I swear I seen the price at 2K this morning, but that was before I had my cup of coffee, so...

Anyway, I think I'm gonna wait it out for another 10 days, and if I get nothing, cancel the order.

Ok, I just got confirmation that my order is ready for collection in JHB. Can't wait for my new toy. (hope the kids give me a chance to play!)

LOL this is classic.

Just got a email saying my phone is on route and will be here no later than tomorrow.

Oh well, anyone want a Old HTC Desire?
