anyone know how to get your hands on a SonyEricsson Xperia Ray locally? http://www.hellkom.co.za/cellphones/387/Sony-Ericsson-Xperia-ray-mobile-phone.html

so far my search has failed, SonyEricsson releases seem notoriously slow to make it to our stores / networks, i'm only aware of this one option: http://www.expansys.co.za/sony-ericsson-xperia-ray-smartphone-black-300mo+4go-microsd-219573/

SE is slow to our shores largely because the Android market here is still shadowed by BB and iphone... So until our tech savy nation realizes that Android is more worth their time than BB, we will still have limited supply, and limited selection :(.

SE's been slow to ZA even back in the P800 days which predate any iPhone or Android device and also any significant uptake of BB ... I just don't get it, and of course the typical lemmings in the cell phone stores never have a clue w.r.t. their own supply chain

now I've fallen into the old trap of wanting a SE in ZA that's just been launched globally in the past month, seems I never learn :(

I like SE new range, small Android phones, im not a fan of the big screen phones, i have 3 tablets for that.
We can expect it by December.

I have the SE Arc and it has a few flaws, mainly in design though.

Just get a Neo, I highly doubt there will be much difference in cost and you'll appreciate the bigger screen.

actually want the Ray specifically because it is 4mm shorter, 4mm narrower, 3.6mm thinner and 26g lighter than the neo

I'm willing to pay the price of having a smaller screen for the benefit of getting a smaller phone ... I prefer the majority of people not staring at the buldge in my pants :)

Trust me the Neo is much smaller than it sounds. If you want that much smaller then you might as well wait for the new mini's to arrive. I had the same worries as you but it fits well into any pocket.
